As to a MUCH more important Trump trial -- the Bathroom trial -- it is increasingly difficult to see Judge Cannon as doing anything but obstructing justice by failing to even set forth a Scheduling Order for the case.
It's been two months since defense attorneys and prosecutors in the Donald Trump classified documents case asked Judge Aileen Cannon for a new trial date and she still has not ruled.
Contrary to what that article says, there is no trial scheduled for May 20. That is off the table and Cannon has not set a new trial date or ANY dates for anything, since being asked to last February. This must be unheard of in a criminal case that is nearly a year old now. The prosecution must be beyond exasperated with this seemingly deliberate stall. They have few options. I'd bet they are almost ready to write the case off, at least through the election. Maybe permanently. If she won't let it go to trial, what is the point of keeping the case pending?

How do you know that's what she's doing? Are you just guessing that's her motive for failing to even issue a scheduling order? I'm not saying you are wrong. A lot of people are speculating the same as you as to Judge Cannon's motives in sandbagging this case.
It's hard to tell from reports what is really going on with the testimony. But it seems like geekman Bove is setting up a "lone gunman" theory as to Cohen. Building on Hicks' testimony about "Mr. Fix It" breaking things before he fixed them.
It can work. "My employee went all rogue and I was unaware of what he was doing." Things like that happen. Embezzlement cases, for example.
There is a lot of written evidence (texts, emails) that Trump knew a lot of what Cohen was doing and gave approval for it, but maybe Bove can distance Trump enough, and discredit Cohen enough, to where the jury thinks there is doubt as to whether Trump was actually running this scam.
