Charlie Engle said he would be doing live video throughout the day. Unfortunately I'm traveling today so I'm won't be able to watch much.

Just watched the live FB feed (a bit delayed for me) from Engle. At the end, Pete is a bit distracted by questions from him and looking over at the phone cam, and he tripped on a curb and went down. Only a scraped knee but pretty scary to think that the run could've ended 25 miles from the finish!

Looks like he's only about 25 miles from the Bridge now.
Anybody know if he already took his break?
(Trying to estimate when he'll get over here.)
It was so easy to see that Robert Young was a complete fake.
It is so easy to see that Pete Kostelnick is the REAL DEAL.
Pete has a real Ultra history, with 2 Badwater wins, and 163.68 miles in 24 hours (8:47.9 pace) at the Desert Solstice Race…in Arizona.
His pacing has been realistic and consistent. There have been no crazy splits.
He has averaged 72+ miles per day, 505+ miles per week, for exactly 6 weeks (42 days, ? hours). WOW.
He has been 100% transparent with complete validation of his run. He has made it easy for everyone to see that he is really doing it.
This is an incredible Ultra performance. Pete's record will be very difficult for anyone to beat.
In conclusion:
GO PETE KOSTELNICK!!!

This also highlights, like the SUV getting rear-ended, how thin the margins are on an attempt like this. 42 days and 3100 miles is a hell of a long time for nothing to go wrong!
Congratulations to Pete, I hope the finish is glorious! Wish I was from the NY area, I'd definitely take an afternoon off work to be a part of this.
I'm projecting a 5:00 finish. I'm way downtown so I'll take a walk over to B'way @ 4:30.
Jeez, good job Charlie. Maybe save the interviews for a few hours down the line?? That could have been REALLY bad.
Endlessly clicking the reload button has never been so exciting. Go Pete!
About 1 mile to go to the George Washing Bridge. Then into NYC over the Hudson River !!!

I hope he stops in Times Square to take his picture with one of the 418 Elmos.
Sorry for being a noob. Is there any video stream being this close to the end?
Check either Charlie Engle's FB page or Pete's Feet Across America for the FB live feeds. That's the best I know of.
Charlie said he would start video posting at the GW bridge. He is climbing up to as I post.

On the bridge!!!!!?
New York!!! This has been so amazing. I'm kind of (selfishly) sad this is ending.
That is what Charlie said in the video he posted earlier today.
Now in NYC!!!!
About 11 miles to go!!!
When looking at world-class runners at normal distances, it's easy to think, "they do the same thing I do, they are just more talented and dedicated".
Pete, on the other hand... I have no frame of reference to handle this. Amazing. Truly one of those moments that's literally inspiring. If another human being can do that, I can probably grind through whatever my next challenge is.

The City is making special accommodations for us to access and require that we follow security procedures. If you are here after 3pm, you may not have access to the steps and will be watching outside the secure zone. Thanks and looking forward to sharing this historical moment with you!
