He also deserves it. Who else has done what he has done? As he gets paid more hopefully more coaches can get better pay.

He turned down Oregon, he won't even pick up the phone from Texas unless they're calling to enter their team in an indoor meet in college state.

It was Robert Johnson to turn down. They were not thinking of any Pat Henry at all. So your info is completely wrong by far! Oregon started winning multiple NCAA Championships when he got there, just like the one he help win at UCLA, his first year there. And he is doing it at Oregon, it was a distance school and no sprinters or jumpers wanted to come and he has turned that place around.

Well now, aren't you a little bit misguided. Hate is a strong word in the coaching business. Everyone is for sale, at all times.

No one is saying this is a done deal, just reporting the rumors.

Anyone else heard this or have any more definitive information on this? Does Henry take his whole staff? Does he cut out Mario Sategna and John Hayes?

The Pat Henry to Texas rumor is real. If he takes it, he will get to name his own staff. The irony of him going to Texas will be funny.

The reason is Eric Hyman, the new Texas A&M AD, and his plans for Track & Field, which aren't positive.

I've heard the Pat Henry to Texas rumors too.

Also have heard that a fiesty little animal from the midwest is looking to trade his red sweater for one that's Brown.

Why does everyone feel the need to come on these boards and lie about coaches looking here or there? Pat Henry is not leaving A&M I can't wait to see who Texas hires so I can come back here and laugh at all these people just trying to make something up like this.

Have some rebuilding, but the tradition is there for sure.

Covering all the bases with that hire. The new coach at Clemson is currently coaching MUCH closer to Clemson.
