I did find some finishers with 4:30+ times and 40K splits in the 2:50s so looks like this may indeed have been a more wide spread problem.
Yes I made another thread about my chip time getting messed up. I asked the advice you lets runners to see how should handle the problem. The All of my splits were correct 5k - 40k. Then my finishing time was way off. It had me listed as over 4.5 hours. I sent an email to the BAA asking them to look at this problem and to fix it. My 40k time was listed at 2:55.
