How do we get no commentary how fast the race was? They had no idea. With 1K to go it was clear they weren’t slowing down and were going to easily break 8:50.

This event looks absolutely wide open this year
I think Reekie made an acceptable mistake today. She was likely expecting a few more to go with her, but ended up stranded and working too hard. She had a response on the top bend but couldn’t hold it as she’d wasted pointless energy.
Odd race.
Most wide open the 800 has been in years. No more “big 3” and with Keely still out from injury could see an entirely new podium (though I think Duguma is the closest to a podium lock this year).
