southlake caroll looks very dangerous considering that they have 5 under 4:27 in an early meet. Alexander Severson who is unattached is included in the caroll squad.
I wonder which team will win woodbridge: southlake carroll? herriman? carter? ventura? san clemente?
I think it will be a close one between southlake carroll and herriman

Why is the Dana Hills girls team entered but not the boys?
All of the top teams are entered in the gold race, but San Clemente is entered in the Blue race?
Weird.
Look for Crater to challenge for the title too.
They return their 2-6 but lost Gorze and are only looking to be 5-deep (unless someone else steps up in the summer) so they won’t have much room for error like Herriman and Southlake Carroll.
If American Fork was in this, it would be quite the preview of the nationals race.

Weird.Blue is the most competitive division. Blue are bigger teams and gold are smaller and/or many of the teams who have to travel.

Sounds like the situation that Bishop Blanchet WA was in last year.
They were one the teams that could qualify for NXN out of NW but their coach ran them onto the ground. And a couple of their top guys didn’t even race at the start of the season.
This region was also so competitive that year which hurt their chances even more.If Ventura happens to somehow get 3rd at the CIF merge they should be able to get an at-large if they beat an autoqualifier from CA or another region. CA is a one-state region which helps because they get to race other CA teams many times which gives them more chances to beat them

no I don't know them it's just a guess.

I believe their second best returner had been injured for most of the summer but I believe that would have predated the new coach.

There is also another Buckley girl who ran a 11:09 in the middle school race. If she will be in 9th grade in fall 2024, this team will be very dangerous that year on a national scale.10 -

Herriman is looking very deep, most teams don't have 15 athletes sub 17 this early in the season, especially considering the elevation.

That Utah race with Herriman was 2.93 miles, times are good but not crazy.
