A listener on the zoom who was familiar with Valby from highschool asked her how she 'increased her fitness' and 'built so much muscle' since highschool, and she said in highschool she was running 'about 30 mpw' so she credits her fitness with 'upping my mileage and cross training a lot'
So, maybe she is not really doing low mileage?
It's on YouTube
which does not quite jive with what her coach said........20-25 mpw, 3-4 days a week I believe
but to be fair, perhaps she did not word well as she is now cross training a lot...so perhaps that is where the increase is
She said 'upping my mileage and cross training a lot'.
A lot might mean 2 hours a day like Allie O did when injured, who knows. But, that's what she said.
Frankly, I tend to be skeptical about the 'low mileage' reports in general. People who lean into that image are probably training out more than they admit.

I just relistened to get the exact quote. "I didn't run a whole lot in high school..... I was running 20-30 miles per week so just upping my mileage has helped tremendously with fitness and adding cross training into that has helped a lot"

If upping her mileage helped 'tremendously' she has got to be doing a lot more than 30 mpw. They should be more straight up about her training.
Curious if anyone knows if they had any moisture at Stillwater over night. I know it's around 0 C right now, but can't tell if the course will be slick.
Not long to go now...win be a fun one to watch hopefully.

25°F with 75% Humidity but 0% precipitation at this moment. Most likely nothing on the ground.
Where I’m currently at is 18°F with 89% Humidity and 2% precipitation and there’s frost all over everyone’s windshields and metal but nothing on the ground.
Awesome write up about Ceili McCabe late last night! No question about it, she’s going for the win, from about 2 minutes out. This is like the 3rd time it’s been confirmed that’s the point she’ll be going for it.
Nov. 18—MORGANTOWN — Just 3.7 miles separate Ceili (pronounced Kay-lee) McCabe from history. That's roughly 20 minutes of running—give or take—or about 8, 300 steps. Each step McCabe runs on Saturday at the NCAA national cros...
Any way everyone who actually made predictions can re-post or put the page # and post # so we have them all in one spot instead of going through 24 pages trying to find ‘em? Mine’s easy, it’s post #1.
