20' on the 'mill yesterday.....Achilles feeling better, but it's taken weeks to get over this chest cold.....I've done enough coughing for a lifetime.....plan to get out again no later than the weekend....

i dont see no troll, but good to know your running is going ok.
Today: kids athletics opn averu nice sunny day, metronome drills were defintiely appreciated: get the "engine" going running in place, then let loose in the lane keeping the cadence up... last drill was a 100m sprint to post session snacks... some strides and healthy elongation at the end for me.
There must have been at least 400 people at/on the track. A real joy.
-100 days to The MOARG The Mother Of All Running Gatherings in Gimmelwald, Switzerland, in 2011
Hey, it's double digits time...
Today
Out with kids to see a new museum, The MAXXI. Lots of walking, nice big space.
-99 days to The MOARG The Mother Of All Running Gatherings in Gimmelwald, Switzerland, in 2011
2 miles walk run warm up. 3.5 miles easy. First day to run in a week.
3 miles this am.....no watch.....some minor tightness in the left calf, but it subsided.....nice weather.....nice view......will try again on Tuesday?....
Settled back into a semblance of routine . Getting in short runs every other day. Roughly 45 mins,.usually in the 10 min/mile pace range. It beats not being able to run at all, which was the case for nearly 3 months. Guess it could have been worse. Had I been healthy throughout the summer there is no way I would have ever discovered the wonder of a Pinarello Bike.
Thurs. 6.2 miles in 53:50. My Old training buddy Neil is off work so we got in some catch up miles and small talk.
Fri.AM. Funky weather;35f and slushy, blustery, chill to the bone humidity. 28 min on catskiis.
Sat. Same depressing weather prevails. hunkered down inside for some bookwork. Set up the Trek on the cyclops for 50 minutes of spinning. 16.0MPH avg.
Sunday; AM cattle check. 5 miles in 52 minutes. Roads are wet, fields are white with heavy wet snow. Cattle aren't enjoying this spell any more than their human caretakers.
PM;28 minutes on the spin trainer; 17.7MPH avg. Going to get on a 50/50/50 kick. 50 pushups ,situps, and half squats daily.
I'm still shaking my head in wonder over the chance encounter with wejo and crew in NY. I'm glad I had him sign a business card, without that point of reference, I might be writing it off as a dream by now.
But the ghost of an opportunity missed will haunt me until MOARG is a reality.. T-minus 99 days and counting.
Gimmelwald SUI. Mittaghorn.Jung Frau. Shilthorn and beyond.
Joan Baez said it best" well, I'll be damned , here comes that ghost again."
Sun - Supposed to be an hour/13km 2 loops of Wildflower Circuit in Bendigo. Tired legs and a general lethargy produced a sluggish 68mins.
Today - Took the trusty Ironhorse up the McIvor Range for some steep rocky and muddy hill grinding, 90 minutes all up, just under 20kms with 320m of elevation gain enroute.
Tomorrow I will take the kyak up the now somewhat swollen Mt Ida Creek. I managed to get a little way up there last week before "running a ground" in shallow water. Heavy rain again over the weekend has lifted the water level about a metre. We do have a 10k track race in Bendigo tomorrow night but I might give it a miss. Sunday's run was a struggle and 25 laps if you are NQR is not fun.
Probably just do an hour in the forests.
Bushman,
your optimistic wisdom is nutrient for reflection...
as for the concreteness of unplanned randomness (hey TCR might like this!) sealed with a wejo signature, opposed to the repetitive nature of daily programming, chartered in the unknown, well, Time will be our understanding witness, and no doubt show clues on how to proceed...
speaking of Joan Baez and ghosts... it was hard not to think of this one...it is sung by Dulce Pontes...and she actually seems to have a voice similiar to Joan...either way, talk about a story of misunderstanding...
it is so hard to gain Freedom without anybody getting hurt... kinda like running, i suppose... and with this in mind, i think, i am going to go to villa pamphili for a quick, daily, trail of freedom...
8k run easy after rain
The young lady is indeed a Joan Baez sound alike.
In my world, that's a good thing.
AM. 7.4 miles at a 10min./mile pace. Damp clouds gave way to the Sun and it's beginning to warm into a comfortable day.
Current temp 37F and calm air prevails.
LOL on the nutrient stream line, but I've been called a BS'er before. Never quite so eloquently.
i believe the original song was actually sung by JB...i liked it/her much also, with or without the politics.
i suppose eloquence and a BS in Art are one and the same, in much the same way your handle might qualify you as a primordial tombeur des femmes...
today
walk to work and back
tpcb,
LOL,primordial---that nails it!
Anyway, the foot is finally on the functional mode again.
AM; heritage run; 8.6 miles in 83 minutes. It's cooler today with a NW wind making the 27F feel like 20F.
PM;25 minutes on the spin trainer. Mixed up the tempo to Neil Young lamenting that "Everybody Knows this is Nowhere".
Neil has had some down times.Lately he seems more like a "just to be is a blessing, just to live is holy" kind of guy.
Bushman,
right on!
Re foot, i just love some good news. Functional is a great concept. It Works. That's kinda Holy too. It Works. Sometimes i have the capacity to focus on these things till it knocks me senseless. Kidding. But i liked the hyperbole...
today
kids athletics, raining like the amazon. Had to move into the covered 4 lanes by 130m which was pretty crowded, but we managed just fine. Except the sheer noide levels turned it into a real workout just to even be able to communicate...
Despite the rain, you got it done. Even with the kids, no less. Adversity and youth can make for memorable outings.
tpcb; Long may you run.
AM: 26 miles on the road bike with the Bayshore Bike club.
The ride was aptly named the " I'd rather be biking than deer hunting" tour. Temp was in the 24-30F range, so we kept moving. Daughter #1 tagged along, but I'm thinking she'll find better ways to clear her head from a night on the town next year.
50 minutes, 20 of it on trails.
right knee and left foot bugging me.
So, i read the front page and i almost heve a coronary of excitement and i was gonna click right on it, but then i thought to tell you guys...i know, it would have been redundant but those 4 x 800m guys getting together is the sort of thing you'd want to witness with friends...havent read yet, but getting at least a lady 800mcounterpart in that meeting would have been good too. Why are the lady 800 not so fascinanting?
"I'd rather be biking than deer hunting" has to make make your semantic day..."
My daughter had hives from an unidentified source. Already subsiding. But spent the day together. No running.
4 miles Friday and again today.....cool and windy, but not too bad....a little tightness in the right calf at the end of today's run.....hoping to get back into the every-other-day routine....we'll see how the leg feels on Tuesday....
Sunday, PM; 2.5 miles with Colonel in tow. Drizzle and mid 30F temps. kept us on the road tonight. His tendency towards woodland side tours was blunted by my own aversion to wet feet.
today
0630, 40 mins easy followed by stretching with BeppeG. OJ, croissant, coffee, and sports paper right after. I have been such a lunchtime runner that early morning runs can still seem a bit of a novelty...
yesterday
Bike commute to work
MOARG is in the double digits. Will calculate later. Mopak, where are you?
today
Intense bike commute.
Intense day of work.
Endurance is one of these things you can train and apply
to other areas of existence.
This is one good reason to practice to be a long distance runner.
