I think, probably, the point was that it doesn’t really matter what most people say who live in the developed world, left, right or center, because you live at the expense of those in the developing world. You can say all the nice stuff you want; you are still part of a system of exploitation. No doubt it makes you sleep better to say certain things. It does about as much good as putting a bag over your head.

I was born into this system. And I'm trying to make it better.

I don't understand why Trump is thought of as being a nationalist. Those of you on the right love him for his alleged nationalism. Those of you on the left detest him for it. But neither faction addresses the question of why he is thought of as being a nationalist. What does a nationalist do? He advances the project of the nation for those who reside in the nation. What has Trump done to advance the interests of the the average American? As a Croatian I saw our country lead by a true nationalist, Franjo Tudman, as Yugoslavia broke up. Tudman was a bad man in many ways (corrupt, racist, brutal), but in his lifetime he put his own life on the line fighting for his people, and his ultimate goal was the independence and well-being of the entirety of those living in Croatia. Personally I hated him, but he was a nationalist and I do think he cared about Croations. Does Trump care about Americans when he enacts tax policies that benefit only those at the very top; when he makes relations with former diplomatic partners and enemy nations equally bad; when he scuttles the functioning of the Federal government; when he imposes judges with loyalties and affiliations that reflect the values of a small sector of the American population; when he regularly conducts himself like a churlish schoolyard bully ... ? Those on the right will say his policies do reflect the values of average Americans--but few serious people agree with that. Dwight Eisenhower was a nationalist. John F. Kennedy was a nationalist. Donald Trump is a trans-nationalist racketeer. His alleged nationalism is about as convincing as the racial identity of a black-face performer at a Yale frat party.

Impeachment takes place in the HOUSE. Members of the HOUSE do not vote guilty or not guilty; they vote to impeach or not.

Conviction-and-removal or acquittal takes place in the SENATE. Members of the SENATE vote guilty or not guilty; they do not vote to impeach.

The original statement from "liberals short memory span is laughable" was that "not one" Democrat voted to impeach Clinton. LSMSIL was wrong five times over.
