Well I'm not sure who made that other thread but I don't think it's too accurate, so here's a more in-depth list for the NESCAC xc 2025 championship. This list is of course subject to change, but here's a look at the top retu...
Some notable inclusions - Liabraaten for Hamline and St. Peter for St. John's. Edwards is entered for Macalester and the full Carleton roster appears ready to line up.
Augsburg and Saint Mary's both have six entries. Hamline has eight. Looks like we can see every team score.
I don't he'll win that marathon, but CIM is a famously fast race. I'd expect a low 2:12, because 5:00 pace should be very comfortable for him. I think it will take more specific marathon pace work for him to run sub 2:10.
Looks like Mo read your comment and laughed. Yesterday's workout with MDE cruised 6 x Mile at a 4:41 average with a 4:30 last mile on the Washburn track. He's going to run sub 2:10 in December and close to 23:25 this weekend.
Anyone else concerned about the number of Iowans on the Oles roster? Its not a reach to think they could be connected to the Iowa State JV team. Wonder what would happen if the MIAC did drug testing.
Imma keep it a buck with you brochacho. It is Division 3 cross country. Get off the forums and start running with your own legs instead of your imagination.

Would be shocked if he runs anywhere close to 2:10. I'm assuming he'll be happy with anything under 2:16:00. He's been training with MN distance elite marathoners so I'm sure he has an idea what kind of shape he is in
Aight Bro, first off its been over a year since I been to Conn and you know I been aura farming since then. Secondly, Lemme give you solid breakdown for this upcoming conference race. I'll go top 10 Individuals and the teams:
1. Bati - TBH, I would like to pick Torty for this one but given the fact I have never seen this dude lose a conference XC meet, I got to pick him. If it was Nats or Regionals, I would honestly give my boy an edge due to it being a bigger field, but I think the smallness of conference, along with past performances just makes me think Bati is going to have his race here again. I mean last year at St. Olaf was the most impressive thing I have ever seen from Bati, 23:54 on that course is rediculous and I would make a bet he will be back at it.
2. Torty - A damn close second, I really think there's a chance for him to win. Especially in a kick, but if there's one thing we know about the Ole's training plan and their historical performace, the conference meet is the third most important meet of the season, and I think that this will stand.
3. Deaver - Reining 4th place finisher from last year, I think there will be a big pack of three battling for the third through 5th places. He just needs to stick to the game plan and execute.
4. Gabe - I think Gabe gets Gael in a kick if he is hanging around with him. Again, similar to Bati, the performances at conference trump the nationals performaces. I like Gabes odds in a smaller field and in a kick, he just needs to stick in it the first 7k.
5. Gael - Guys, straight up it will finally be November, which happens to be Gael's favorite time to run fast for whatever reason. I basically have come to realize that anything pre-November doesn't matter for this dude. He's a dawg when it counts
6. Cole Stencel - Damn, now it is starting to get hard for me to accurately rank these guys, because honestly, I never was paying that much attention to them in my time there. That being said, from looking at the results, this kid seems to have some talent. A little bit Lloyd Young-y I would say. Not all the way there but certainly likes to hang around. Who knows, I could see Cole placing as high as 3rd and as low as like 10th. I just really got no clue.
7. Indy - When Indy wants to, he can run damn fast. Again, total hit or miss. I think that is likely the mid-distance part of him, and frankly that's my issue with a lot of the conference. It is just so tough to know what is going to happen in a race which is 5 times the perfered distance of most of these guys, and I think that's why XC is so hard to predict in the MIAC. Regardless, dude is talented.
8. Eli Doran - Call me crazy, dude is a dawg and I think he has the potential for a really go MIAC meet. I was thinking of putting Bjork in this spot, but I think these two are very interchangeable. The last two scorers for the Oles will make or break the dominance of the meet. Could either be close or look like a repeat of last years rediculous victory.
9. Ihrke - My last two picks are just based off of talent and guts alone. Yes, Ihrke is an 800 runner, which I have my doubts about. Yes, Mac has yet to convince me that they can run well in the postseason the past few years (I thought they were locked number two last year). But lemme tell you, I've watched this kid take Lawrence Nemecek to the well a few times, and he's got some guts. I FW it HEAVY. GIMME IHRKE IN THE TOP 10!
10. Iggy - Dawg, Iggy could've run a 29 minute 8k at Conn and I would've thought yea give him 2 weeks I think he can take off a minute per mile with some contrast baths and 30 mile weeks. Ian curtis and Iggy are two of the fastest mfs I have had the privelege to run with, and they both got some dog in them. Gimme Ignatius Fitzgerald, the former Oregon Duck in the top 10.
Yes, I might be Biased towards the Oles in the top 10, but what reason do I have not to be. Three straight conference victories, all with less than 30 points. Maybe this year is the year that they get challenged, but I highly doubt it. Prove me wrong.
Teams: 1. The Oles - I have nothing else to say. Only ranked team in the conference. I could see a challenge from the Carls if they get on them early but I think it will take Roy returning to his normal self.
2. The Carls - TBH, If Roy was a 25 minute guy like I think he should be, I would have more faith in an upset. Perhaps in these next few years they can get it, but I really don't know if they can match up that well with the 4 and 5.
3. The Jonnies - This is really just based on the belief that St. Johns shows up for conference ready to go. It is really one of the more impressive things I have ever seen. I continually think every year "No way the Jonnies are going to be better than what they're supposed to be". And each year they got someone who has a performance I am just like DAMN, impressive run man, I thought you were a 27 flat guy. Based on this alone, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
4. The Mac Pack - I really want you guys to do well. I'm always impressed with what you guys do in the regular season and by how much it seems like y'all improve over the years. But I just don't know how much Dog there is in there. Does the Mac Pack have the talent and fitness to get second? Yes. Will they? Ugh IDK man Please just show me you got some guts on the XC course man.
5. The Gusties - And now I just don't know enough about the teams to warrant me making a correct prediction for 5th. I feel like it just depends on the day for these guys, and that's what XC can do. It's about being calm and consistent in chaos, which I don't know that enough of these teams talk about. So I don't know. Gimme Gusties at 5 I guess.
remaining teams that I don't want to write a whole paragraph about:
6. Bethel - a big maybe to be top 4 or just bomb. Maybe Hootie pulls through
7. The Cobbers - would probably be higher on the list if the other Goss was still around.
8. The Saints- I legit have no clue who is on the team anymore, but maybe Calvin can sneak himself into the race?
9. St. Mary's - Aside from Isiah Fitzgerald, I don't know anyone else on the team. I guess we will see if Isiah's big mileage and workouts can pay off.
10. The Auggies - The only reason I put them ahead of Hamline is because they have the lowstick on em.
11. Hamline - It amazes me that they were the last Non-Northfield MIAC team to win the conference. I do like their coach though, he is a chiller.
Well, there we go. An in depth MIAC analysis. Good thing I took 30 minutes out of my day for this... But honestly, I really enjoy following along with sports, so I am cool with it. Good luck to those racing this weekend. I will be following the results post long run from the beautiful parking lot at Tom Watson. Doot doot for now.
A stray rhesus monkey could show up to the course and coach the Oles to the title. That doesn't mean I don't think St. John's and Carleton have a chance to win. That's how unimpressed I am by what that man has done with such talent. Ask Olaf Coffey, Ian Curtis, Penn Sagedahl, or Arne, all potential All-Americans how satisfied they were with their careers. It's a shame. He wouldn't know what to do with talent if it walked up to him and kicked him in the shin.

We're looking to compile a list of schools/coaches that actually develop hs runners. So not the schools that took STUDS and then they run well...schools that took mid-pack, good runners and developed them.Looking for schools...

My guy, you are taking like maybe a fourth of the team. And all of those guys had talent for sure. But here's the thing dawg: every team has those guys. I could name you damn near 10 guys on the La Crosse and Whitewater teams who were very talented who didn't pan out. That is just part of the game. Injuries, mentality issues, etc., its all part of the sport. But take a deeper look over the years, and you will see some pretty solid improvements from Oles over their four years. In fact, a lot of times the best freshmen in the conference are not Oles, and we'll be the first to tell you that adjusting to the NCAA is tough, but lets look at the reciepts shall we.
Power's training has taken over 3 and a half minutes off my 8k PR. 4 and a half minutes off Sean Hartney's 8k PR, Not to mention 3 off of Olaf Coffeys (who you basically described as a bust, but has multiple all conference finishes to his name and is a 3:51 1500 runner). 4 and a half minutes off of Kevin Montressor's, Noah Massanari's, and Julian Munoz's 8k PR. Another 4 and a half minutes off Gael's 8k PR, 3 and a half off of Deaver's and Angelo's 8k PR, 3 minutes off of Parker's, 4 and a half off of Jackson Marsh's 8k PR. Shall I go on? It is remarkable the amount of St. Olaf runners who have gone from 28 to 29 minute 8k runners their freshman year to running at a National meet and being low 25s to low 24s. My freshman year we were told we were the 3rd best recruiting class in the MIAC. Sean and I were the ONLY two all-americans from our class in the MIAC. What in the world are you talking about dawg. I'm not about to rip on other coaches in the MIAC because I'm not some dingus who has to wish that they did something with their running career. You just really don't know what you are talking about. Like are you mad he didn't want your negative attitude on our team bro? Cuz I'm starting to think thats true.

Seriously dude, eat $hit. You're takes are weak and tired. You are an embarrassment to whatever program you do or did represent. Try a different handle and maybe contribute something useful to this thread/board.
Best of luck to everyone competing tomorrow. Although I now reside on the sunny shores of San Diego, my heart and soul lives in the Northland and I am reminded on such a lovely day of all of my memories of MIAC competition.
There is nothing more sacred than lining up on a cold, frozen golf course on a Saturday morning. Surrounded by your closest brothers, you are prepared to go out there and fight like hell for the chance of being remembered forever in MIAC glory. It will not be easy. If you run a cross country race correctly, you will travel to hell and back and shake hands with the devil upon your return to the living world. Icicles of spit frozen to your chin as you charge down the final straight, you think to yourself, "Where else would I rather be?" and the answer, of course, is nowhere. You are right where you are supposed to be.
As the sun rises on the Highland 9-hole golf course tomorrow, a new battleground will be set for the greatest of championships. There is no race more honest, more brutal, and above all, more beautiful than 8 kilometers across the grass. You cannot hide in a race like this. Your summer miles, fall interval sessions, and everything in between will be on full display tomorrow morning. Every skipped run, every beer consumed, and every Zyn pouch sitting in your lips will be evident to each and every spectator on the hills of the course.
My one word of advice to each of you is to hold your brothers close and remind them that you run for each other. Cross country is a team sport made up of individuals who each want greatness more than anything else on this beautiful and complicated earth. When you are out there 6km into the struggle and every fiber of your being is telling you, SCREAMING AT YOU, to stop. To quit. To phone it in. That is when I want you put your head down and remember what God put you on this earth to do - run. You have calloused yourself into a creature whose sole purpose is to put one foot in front of the other as quickly as humanly possible.
My final words to you are as follows:
Do not waste this opportunity. Soak it in and enjoy every last drop of beautiful, horrible pain tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Lars Dewall - 8th grade teacher at Diocese of San Diego
