Spring Arbor ran 5 minutes slower team time than what appears to be a mostly full strength GVSU team. That should probably put you NAIA top 10 most years.
Louisville 2023-- GVSU ran 2:00:45 to win Gold race while Cumberlands ran 2:06:14 to win the Blue race.
A large Spring Arbor jump can easily be justified.

I am personally not a fan of make TT comparisons against historical data like that. too many variables and I prefer to use it for h2h comps within the same year. But to each their own, I know loads of coaches who live and die by TT. Bryan Burk of Spring Arbor is a huge fan of TT, if one believes his race reports he use to file. Luckily for all of us, it doesn't matter because Spring Arbor goes to Gans Creek on the 27th and will have an opportunity to prove their worth. If they fail to do it there, they still have Great Lakes and Crossroads.
No NAIA national XC rating going to be released this week. Malfunctions with the PrestoSports platform not pulling in all race reports have led the NAIA to push back this rating at least 1 week. You all can keep speculating and questioning the raters.
How does Cumberland actually want to win nationals? They didn't look strong in Alabama. It looks like almost all of the internationals are ineligible or injured. As of now, they only have Asslouj and Madeo who can run cross country fast, the rest are average or just trash. With those two alone, they can't beat other teams. They won't even make it into the top 5 with that performance.
Cumberlands can never win like this. In the last 100m in the livestream from Alabama, it looked as if Asslouj was injured because he seemed to crawl to the finish line.
And what now Cumberlands? Apparently half of the internationals are injured or ineligible. The coaches should not only recruit, but also make sure that everyone is eligible, they had several months in the summer to do this. Right now, only one runner seems to be really competitive (if Asslouj is really injured). How do they even plan to get into the top 5?
This punishes the arrogance of Cumberlands and the whole NAIA hopes that they will lose.
What will happen for indoor/outdoor? No way the same team keep a top ranking when track season starts. Milligan and Cumberlands have weak event teams for track.
Cumberland's track team is loaded with sprinters and jumpers. Milligan picked up multiple pure track athletes who will score. The Oregon transfer will win two events indoors and maybe two outdoors. Not sure what you're talking about.

Maybe Cumberlands. Not sure about any of the event kids at Milligan scoring or even qualifying for nationals. They might have a few kids but can the new coaches even coach the kids. Heard the workouts are pretty weak from an acquaintance.
guess the standards committee decided to take the issue of field size into their own hands!
I just went through the men's sprints/mid d and for the 800/1k/mile based on last years times they could've ran 2 heats of each for prelims. 5 for the 200, 4 for the 60. for events 60-mile, they'd be cutting the fields in half (roughly). 3k/5k fields also getting cut in half based on the times from last year. the relay fields and race walk seem largely unaffected which seems counter intuitive if you're trying to tighten up the meet's run time.

Likely trying to get the number close to NCAA nationals at 24 per event. No point in having 40 plus kids making it to nationals.

Itll keep getting faster with new rules. and we'll still keep having a joke racewalk where half the country gets in as 40 people do it total
What could they possibly be saving them for?? They had a 50 second gap between Woodall and Hipkiss at the Firetower meet. They're gonna need all of the help they can get to beat my boys at Cumberlands
