His view numbers are dropping post-pandemic, and he can't push out more stuff people actually will watch because he can only run one or two Euro marathons a year. The "run with me" stuff was a solution, but the amount of time those take to produce is even greater than the formulaic egg/headlamp/garage stuff nobody watches now.
He's going to get his butt handed to him when a drone lawsuit hits, and trying to lift on top of never eating, and running far, far too much mileage is the final nail.
I think his real trap is that he's pretty much maxed out his running potential, unless he scraps YouTube altogether and actually prioritizes recovery.
He's in his late 30's, so every year he has to work harder than before just to maintain the same fitness. He's doing 100+mpw during training cycles, weights, etc. How can he improve the stimulus to improve the response, while pumping out videos every day? He can't.
He won PP twice, his marathon PB is barely budging. There's nowhere for his fitness/performances to realistically go except flatline or go downwards. It's not great content to watch him try to inspire you with mediocre races and declining fitness. The smart move would be to pivot the channel to be less performance based, and more about other parts of running: coaching, giving previews of trails, filming big races, etc. How is Seth going to grow his channel over the next 5-15 years when he stops winning races, and he can't hit his old times, otherwise? Is it going to be a running injury and burnout channel? (I mean, more than it already is?)
