And Fast Tuohy thought that Tuohy was the top recruit last year. Hahahahahaha.

Please cite where I said that

She can run 1:53 today.
The only problem might be finding a rabbit to take to her 600m.
Months ago I stated Athing My would run at least 1:55.25 at the Olympics and she ran 1:55.21. I'm still saying she can break the 800m WR.
After winning Olpic Gold, her interview appeared on Iaaf.org in which she stated, "My time is now, be it 6 years or 2 years it's my time. I'm not going anywhere. I want to break the 800m WR eventually, no not eventually. We're are going to break the WR. I want to do everything to be great".
WHAT did she mean by we're (was she speaking of herself and Keely H? Why did she change from eventually and said as if she means now 2021? Hmm

Hey Armstronglivs, is Mu doping yet?
Just checking in.
Checking in again.
Athing Mu is great but she is NOT likely to ever break the 800m world record. That is an extremely fast track in Tokyo and she is not close enough to feel confident that she can do it. It would take perfection and that does not exist. Some people mature early. Athing may be closer to her peak than you think.
I think she knows how close to her peak she is better then you. Athletes don't speak of breaking world records unless they have the potential or very close to such potential. You never heard Ajee Wilson, Mo Farah, Laura Muir, Jacobk In. speak of breaking world records...all great athletes but never world record talk.
So when Athing speak CONFIDENTLY of breaking the 800m WR, I think she know better about HERSELF THEN YOU!

The issue is I am much more intelligent than Mu and you. You are really stupid and she is likely of average intelligence. Who cares if she has the goal of breaking the world record? Centro tried to break the US record in the mile recently. You really believe confidence is enough? Mu is very talented and so she should have high aspirations but the intelligent know she will NEVER do it.
Of course she does.
All you have to do is count her steps per minute and realize she can move with a higher turnover.
And then look at the difference in our stride length and how she can vary it.
Yes, she's going to go quite a bit faster.
Athing Mu might become the 3rd women ever to break 1:54. She is that good. But the world record? Nope. That 1:53.28 woman was doped to the gills and she also could run 47.99. Mu does not quite have a 1:53.28 in her. Better to stop thinking about it.

You both are wrong. She will do it, but not because she said so - rather because she is simply able to due to her ideal running form, excellent raw speed, young age and logical improvement curve.
As for you, my very intelligent friend, being conservative is not a sign of higher intelligence, but more of simply playing it safe, since you choose a side with better odds. But sometimes a safe bet is a wrong one and someone deeply involved in this field would recognize that. As an ex sub-elite 800m runner for more than 10 years, I can tell you, that Mu getting a WR in the next 2 years is a realistic prospect and there is no shame in believing in it.

Agreed. She has exceeded high expectations and is already within a couple seconds...magic 8 ball says YES.

Oof. I can’t believe someone actually wrote this paragraph.
Caster Semenya actually had a better chance to run 1:53.27 than Athing Mu does. Caster had similar speed with her 49.62 and she had 3:59 1500m endurance. Yet she apparently could not do it. Athing Mu is special but no more talented than Caster.
Everyone keeps talking about Athing My as if she is an 800m runner coming from the speed 400m side.
ATHING MU first ran sub 5 minute mile indoors at age 14 years 9 months. She is more then capable of training and impressing the world at 1500m. Heck she ran 4'16.06 this year off her 400/800m training.
Athing WILL EVEBTUALLY break the 800m WR because she is the first female since the 800m WR who have such tremendous talent at both 400m and 1500m.
Apparently she is more talented then Caster at the same age...her U20 400m AND 800m personal bests are both faster then Casters at the same age Caster shouldn't really be in this conversation anyway we are talking about non DSD women.. Athing potential is superior then any 800m runner save maybe Pamela Jelimo but Jelimo lost focus and then got u juried.

Semenya definitely could have run faster. He/she only ran fast enough to win and not to start a s.h.i.t.storm by breaking a WR. You can clearly see sandbagging in some videos.
I myself have run faster 800m of very similar PBs, so I highly doubt that he/she fully exceeded the potential in 800m.
First, congrats on another great thread title.
“Stop lying to yourselves”
I didn’t know I was telling myself she couldn’t break the world record.
A negative split 1:55.2 is crazy.
Even though it’s real old, I think the record is weak.
I don’t know how a properly trained 800m runner with 49 s 400m speed would have trouble breaking 1:53.
Why can’t women have the endurance to push two laps?
I look at my own 800m progression.
I ran 50 flat in high school sprint training and ran 2:02 with no distance work.
First year of college I ran 1:55.
Second year I was probably in 49 shape. I ran 1:53.5 and 4:05 for the 1500.
Why can’t a woman that can run 49 and 4:00 run 1:53?
I eventually ran 1:49 but my 400 ability was no better than Mu.
Though l ran 3:52 that year and eventually 3:42.
We just saw a man run 45.9 over hurdles.
The women are running 51 mid.
Wang’s unbelievable 10,000 record has been beaten to dust.
Qu’s 1500 record is gone.
This 1:53 is becoming mythical but I don’t think it’s been attacked.
Mu has the talent for it.
She CAN break it.
Will she? I don’t know.
Maybe she just needs her own Nigel Amos chasing her in a race where she goes for it.
where is sydney mclaughlin's black screen? is it because she is bi-racial? what a bloody racist site this is.
