Got my catski's tuned up with new wheels and bearings. Smooth again!!!

20 mins. inc. 4x's top effort short intervals. Low to no impact experience, and the foot is OK with that. I'm not ready to join the ranks of crocked runners just yet.

Is this Parkour event taking off that big over there??

AM; 27 mins. catski. AHR127, max 171.

PM; 90 min. MTB ride with a group of 15. Rocky and wet. Bugs are reclaiming the Northwoods.

Re Trail Parkour: Parkour is pretty big fringe activity in Europe, France. Trail Parkour will likely follow a similiar fate as active people discover the beauty of Nature's obstacles as well as man-man ones. In Friedrichschafen it was just exhibition. Still loads of fun.

Yesterday:

All sorts or running in gym on treadmill, on Montagnetta (uphill) park and to finish off 3 x 400m (72,73,77 and a 200 in 31) at the track there. Liked the idea of finishing a long work day somewhat quickly.

Likelyhood of reduced connectivity for the next 9 days or so. Will be DYRTing as available.

Whoever might or mightnot have wanted to unsupport this thread does not seem to be doing it. Maybe we can forget about it.

tuesday took an unscheduled day off to go to the dentist.....no cavities.....61' wed. and 40' today.....both ending with a dip in the H2O.....life is good....

6 miles, 6:40 avg pace. had to wait for 17 minutes for my garmin 310xt to connect. absolutely ridiculous...i was in the heart of downtown nyc but the skies were clear and i was only 4 blocks from central park

There's your answer -- big ass buildings blocking the line of sight to the satellites. Get to the park.

2007 my 305Garmin registered 26.24 during the NYCM.

Monsoons here in Wisco. Been biking while the foot recoups.

75 miles on 3 outings in and around Green Bay. Humid and hot.

60' in the fog.....had to take a potty break at 10'.....all's well after that.....finished with a swim.....life is good....

Yesterday; 16 miles on the bikes. Mountain/Bay Trail. Mellow.

Jogged 100 yds up the drive last night , then walked 2miles.

Foot was healing under the full moon.

This morning: still raining off a major thunderstorm last night, 10K standard L-route, in progression, feeling not loose enough.

On a domestic note, good to see LR appreciate the Castelbuono minimalist elite race that worked to make a spectator event. In general, what else could be done, in a smiliar scenario? Maybe run an open race afterwords so the amateurs get the best of both worlds: to spectate and to participate... I know i would have loved to watch Tadese and Sammy in action and, all-inspired by them, to run on the same stones they just ran on, their footprints still hot...kinda like going driving on Silverstone right after a Grand Prix...Logistically difficult maybe, but how cool would it be?? You watch, you run!

today

11 sweat-drenched, unelegant, unsmooth, lowbeat, lowbrow, lowmotivated, yet somewhat introspective kilometers.

Back into it today. 12 x 800m, 3k pace.

Yesterday. 90 min MTB with the group. Super humid conditions produced more storms, cutting the ride short.

Got caught in a downpour yesterday PM. Ran at least a 100yds. to cover. No fallout this AM from the brief pavement jaunt, so the healing continues.

Expletives alone seem incapable of breaking the monsoon cycle prevalent hereabouts.

A solid, hilly 97min/20km run through the forests with some nice hills. Pouring rain, just me and the marsupials out and about. A good way to shake the haze off after 3 night shifts.

Yesterday, a pleasant mtb ride of a bit over an hour mostly in the One Eye Forest. Also did a short session on the heavy bag and some weights.

Monday, an hour of kyakking in the lake. Our lake is filling quickly with recent rain, this time last year 5.8% currently 11.5%. Able to now paddle over McNutts Bridge. Last year I was able to run over it. 3 years ago I was able to run under it!

Sunday, club relay. 2 legs of 1400m with 15 mins between. First one in 5.00, missed the watch on the 2d but probably about the same. I did a nice easy 10k trot in the forest after wards. All up about 17kms.

Saturday, ran an open 5km race on a nice course around a couple of small lakes. A bit rough in the tummy throughout. Arch rival (O/50) John R took off and opened up 50m by 1/2 way. I pulled him back steadily but in the last 1/2 km I just couldn't push hard enough. Another O/50 came past and beat both of us. Ran a disappointing 20.07.

I did at least win a bottle of port for third O/50.

as part of the dyrt ensemble i would say bring the port over for some after dinner stories to share at The MOARG, but still too many days so maybe we'll buy one on location.

Yesterday

jetlag sleep, family time, running can take a rest

8km race, club handicap. Really nice course with a roller coaster last 2.5kms. Trails were mostly smooth and soft after lots of rain, a few patches of sloppy mud. Hit the 5.5km mark in 22.25 and worked strongly through the hills for a very good 33.18. Caught all but Grant F. He had a 4min headstart, he has been in good form. Never a chance anyone would catch him off that mark. The 3 fast boys behind me all ran just either side of 32m which franked my feeling of running well.

Ended up with 17kms for the day.

The port is safely tucked away for later tpcb.
