Sat- 4.5km warmup, 6.5km undulating and muddy club handicap trail race through forests near Mandurang.
A good hard one, got everything out of myself.Totally spent at the finish. 4.5km warmdown.
Sun- 2.5km warmup, 8km undulating, muddy/softsand club handicap "trail" race in Woodlands Park near Melbourne.
Strong headwind for first 4kms. I pushed very hard from 4k to 2k with the wind and on some downhill. From 2k on it was just a bit of a slogfest. Hard result to digest, different runners, soft footing and that headwind... felt I went ok if not quite as well as I hoped. 2.5km warmdown.
Mon- Stopped on the way to work at Wildflower. Ran the traditional 6.5km hilly trail in 32 then reversed direction and did lap 2 in 28.30.
Today- Had to wait in Bendigo for my daughter so went to Crusoe/No7 Park after work. Ran the 8km marked "trail" (really a nice smooth path). This featured recently in an article by Craig Alexander on where to run in Vic. Late in the day so plenty of roos and wallabies about. Not quite the numbers I'd see at home but it is just on the edge of a city of 100,000.
Completed the 8 in 38 mins then jumped the gate and ran strongly up a nice long climb, 17 mins up, turned and cruised back. Finished with a dash up a short hill and a few strides than jogged back to the car, 80 mins of running.
