We also will be doing a live watch praty and reaction show starting 5 minutes before the race (so 1:55 pm ET) and then going on for as long as we need to afterwards:
Paid for that first 800 split dearly in the last 600. Can we stop now with this gimmick and just enjoy watching her run real races and beat all her competition? This stuff is just a commercial for Nike gear.
Why does it bother you that she done this? Really, it's not like she's taken an opportunity from someone else. There's no disadvantage to anyone else from her doing this. This is a woman who has literally achieved everything possible in her event. Does it really float your boat to watch her pound her rivals into the track yet again in a DL? She tried something different, came up short. She was at 3:01 with a lap to go. The Nike team will take the data from this and see if it's worth having another attempt
It would be cool if she was racing Chebet in all those super fast 3ks and 5ks. That’s the opportunity cost of this attempt.

God NO NO NO, no more DAMN IT no more such attempts you gullible fool!!!!!!!!!!
Why do you think your boat is floated just by her conspiring up this event in her transgression of God's will??????????????
There is every disadvantage for her to conspire with Nike and their entourage of doped up male bodies to cheat the world of the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, it wasn't "embarassing", a woman just ran a 4:06 mile.
Definitely not what Nike planned for. Have to say Fisher/Teare did not look remotely surprised by the failure to keep pace.........honestly Fisher checked his shoulder 600 in and looked surprised she was still there
i called 203 plus 204
based on her aerobic ability plus the 155 high probable 800 ability optimal.
I had this moment as the race began, thinking that myself and just about every other serious runner in the world was watching this like it was the moon landing. For a moment we all had something in common. I look forward to her next attempt as even though I never expected her to do it, I sure am jazzed by her performance for my 2nd run later today.
I never expected her to threaten sub 4 minutes, I figured on a perfectly paced WR attempt she could have ran around 4:05.5. The sub 4 pace was too much but she went for it thru 1200m but reality jumped on her back and many spectators belief the last lap.
KUDOS for such bravery that was remarkable and yes I almost shed a tear from being so proud of Faith, the support of her fellow athletes, and the spectators 😮💥🥇.
SPLITS (from the on-screen display) 30.07 1:00.20 (30.13) 1:30.30 (30.10) 2:00.75 (30.45) 2:30.68 (29.93) 3:01.84 (31.16) 3:32.85 (31.01) 4:06.91 (34.06 for 209, ~32.54 for 200m)
The 1500m split might've been under her official WR, based on her final 209m pace she hit 3:49.12 but she was clearly slowing down, so was probably a little faster.
Even though it was disappointing I was in tears watching the beautiful display of running and support. It’s nice to see a running event get attention . Unlike Breaking 2 she could try again in a short time.
But if she’s not close, then what’s the point? Kipchoge at least was close.

you can't run sub 4 off a 155 high 800, period.
nice run.
called the 407 in a post outlining the same reasons.
which expresses the most basic of fundamentals.
sure the drafting is a big deal done properly, where you can get a second a lap better than haphazard routine pacers.
calling for the 2 hour marathon with perfect drafting, for a 202 guy, that is a given, and nothing to do with this run and prediction.

Bravery? What is so brave about this Nike PR stunt? You act like she saved the life of a soldier in battle.

Agree that having a bunch of dudes beside her looking like they're jogging and chatting the whole way at sub-4 pace completely diminished any sense of it even being a difficult feat. Spectacularly bad event.
You're saying running faster than any other woman has or can is a terrible look? I think it's the opposite - shows how much further ahead she is than all other women and literally pushing the barrier.
