He really needs to have a go at some European races. Like we get it, Seth is great on the Pikes Peak ascent. But there is a whole series of <50k trail races in Europe that the best runners in the world enter (Stian, Davide Mangini, Kilian, etc.) They will go to Pikes Peak and race it without doing months of specific training just for it. He needs to do the same on their turf if he wants to prove he can hang with the big boys of trail.
Before he got sick, Sage put together a top 10 Golden Trail series if I recall (despite a bad finale in Nepal), including a second to Kilian at PP. Could our little guy here do that..?
He went to the World Championship in 2019 and finished 31st, and none of those guys were in his race. There's no reason to think he'd beat any of them on their turf.
That was a joke when he went to the World Championships. That's when he snuck in NYC a couple weeks before to make more content for his channel, then showed up burnt to a crisp. What a huge letdown for his team and country. Selfish little s***.
Does he need a straight up/down out and back course to do well? He's clearly a climber and someone who fades at the back even on flat runs. Zegama is a bit yo-yoey through the middle. so could he handle climb/descend/repeat? And Seth can do runnable terrain up but how is his hike? Plenty of people crack out the poles at Zegama.
What would the Zegama prediction be? Top 10? 10-20? DNF? 42k's with 2.7k's climbing with some steep sections in under 4 hours is a spicy one for the elites...
It’s a bit too much of a hamster wheel life for my liking but if you can maintain that repetitive lifestyle, more power to him. He just doesn’t seem to have much else going on except for the channel because if he did, he’d film it as every and anything is content to the little guy.

He needs a one-way ascent course. Basically Pikes Peak Ascent is his niche.
Sorry but why is this stealing? The clothes are thrown away by the runners and usually the NGOs are picking them up and bring them to homeless people. Now the reply will be - he stole from a homeless.

He stole from the homeless. There did it for you :). No the real issue is that yes they were left but it's incredibly selfish and dishonest to pick up stuff like that.

That was a douche move by Seth. What a stupid thing to do.
I am not sure what to make of this. I woke up excited and eager to check the result. 2:22! That is pretty good, a time I would like to run. Haven’t had a chance to check the full results to see the groupings. I know running “in a pack” was discussed as a reason for going overseas. However later today, I realized that the winner of the Carmel, Indiana marathon ran 2:20 yesterday. Carmel is a good local race, but by no means a fast course. So I wonder if the big rub with myself and others is the whole expectation vs. reality discussion. Could have enjoyed a nice race yesterday at Carmel and either won or been pushed to run the same time, maybe even slightly quicker. Then been home for Sunday dinner. Either way, I think I need to move on. Too many ups and downs following someone else’s journey. I have enjoyed the discussion here and have received good, challenging feedback to some of my earlier thoughts.
Bunch of jealous folks on this blog from what I see
