sometimes i posted her and in part 1 way back and i haveto say that you are nothing but trouble;
you willfully troll and make grand meaningless statements and i can attest to the fact that a lot of really positive contributers to these threads left once you showed up.
you contribute nothing to these threads but poison and then you seem to relish in some kind of leadership role in this grand achievement.
but i s'pose i am the only one who feels that way.
Hello, "finally". Ha ha! I browsed through part 1 to see some of your posts, but could not find any. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Ha ha. Nevermind. I think we all know who is who around here. Ha ha!
I have never claimed any "leadership role this grand achievement." On the other hand, our familiar troll friend often signed off with his claim to being the creator of DYRT. However, the evidence is clear "finally". Ha ha!
Yes, I do believe it is a grand achievement, but I have only played a small part in it. I am humbled to be associated with the greatest of letsrun threads. The real credit goes to tpcb, mopak, special O2 and the others who have kept this thread thriving. Thank you!
Meanwhile my own running continues to be nonexistent as I slowly recover. Hopes are high for a mid-to-late spring return. I'll keep you informed!
Keep up the good work, all!
AM:
3k walk to my mother-in-law for an errand. Drove kids to school to deliver some used oil for a recycling interschool competition.
Just to link to another thread: didn't just wake up, but i do browse LR in the morning to DmYRT, or activity as it maybe.
the light at the end of the tunnel got a little brighter yesterday.....started out hoping to touch 30' for the first time in quite a while......had some initial minor tightness in the calf, but that may have been due to increased awareness.....probably would not have noticed it if I had not been having an issue there recently......anyway it go no worse, even after the 2nd mile.......was able to get to 30' with no onset of tightness as had happened with recent runs.....stopped at 30' on the dot as I do not want to take any chances....will shoot for 30-35 this weekend......life is good...
O2,
that's a good point, awareness and recurring injury. A relationship worth exploring.
Lunchtime:
bike commute for errands
then to Villa Pamphili for 30 min hills workout with FrancoP. Just perfect teammate for quality sessions. ran in my sandals.
bike to pick up son at school
bike home.
tram to work.
Life is indeed good. Running is a Moving Experience.

AM:
1h30m total in villa pamphili, about 30mins wu around campone, then about 8k worth at 4:28/km with Giancarlo, then steps x12, then light jog and some walking. Very sunny.
a small step backward this past weekend....was hoping for 30-35' and all started well.....go to the turn around and headed back into the wind.....the leg started to tighten up shortly thereafter......played is smart and stopped for a bit to see if it would loosen up......returned to running but took a couple of walking breaks, especially on the uphills.....completed 28' of interrupted running.....still some tightness there today, but not nearly as bad as previous episodes......will take and extra day off, or maybe hit the elliptical today....
Sat. Picking grapes until 3pm then changed into the running gear and ran a very enjoyable hour in the neighbouring Spring Plains Forest. Started out on some nice soft sandy trails then went bush running over steep ground, untracked, leaf litter, log and rock hopping, tree dodging. The many resting roos weren't pleased about my prescence. A good fast hitout over some quite tough terrain. Took the kyak out to the lake and rolled the arms over for a nice relaxing hour while being entertained by pelicans, grebes and eagles.
Sun. A good strong hour on the mtb out to Spring Plains and back over some nice rocky hills. Finished the morning with a very solid hour long run up on the McIvor Range.
Today, 9 hours of grape picking. Went out in the evening for a brisk walk with occassional "natural" running intervals.
Didn't quite finish off the Tasmanian hiking diary so here goes.
Last day on the trail.
Woke up at Bert Nichols Hut 6am. still torrential rain.
We all prepared for the worst weather but as soon as we took off the clouds dispersed and out pooped the sun. The final section of the track was pleasant but unspectacular forest walking. After a couple of hours we reached Narcissus River and a suspension bridge. We were now pretty much back to civilisation. We crossed paths with a few day trippers before reaching Narcissus Hut on the banks of Lake St Clair, Australia's deepest lake 200m deep in places.
Narcissus is an old run down hut. Most hikers catch the afternoon ferry across the lake. We chose to stay the night in the hut and take the morning ferry.
One other group, we jokingly referred to them as the Opposition 6, also stayed but they chose to camp by the lakeshore.
Our sleep was occassionally interrupted by visits from various small marsupials . By this stage there was virtually no food for them to find though.
By 6am a sharp frost had descended. An ideal photo opp around the lake.
Our journey finished with a 40 min ride on the small ferry across the lake. Gary was invited to drive the boat for much of the trip across.
By 11am. We were back in the "real" world.
By late afternoon we were sipping wine on a balcony overlooking the spectacular Hobart harbour, the promise of a comfy bed and a decent meal something to look forward to.
However I think deep down we all would have been happy with another night of tuna and rice and a sleeping mat.
hey mopak,
what a pleasant epic. Thanks much. And, yes, the possibility of deprivation seduction are always on radar. Nothing wrog with that.
yesterday:
1h30mins in villa pamphili
today:
no school, so did some house chores like plumbing maintenance (the worse). Then went to the park with kids and played some scrap soccer, some biking, just relaxed in general.
Boston is around the corner.
April's almost here so that could mean driske reappears.

30' on the elliptical.....broke a good sweat without undue pressure on the calf.....still some slight tightness, so will likely stay on the sidelines today.....may try to give it a go on the roads tomorrow....need to drop some of those winter pounds.....
AM:
With the kids in the park for a long walk, play around, about 3k
lunchtime
adult track session, drills, gray skies and some fatigue called for an easy session
today: rest. More deep plumbing work. An isometric workout of sorts. Very satisfying results-

best day in awhile.....jogged 4' to the track to meet the gang and give them their instructions.....departed on a hoped-for 30'.....no problems.....near the end caught up with the gang and decided to finish with them....33' for the part.....a total of 37' on the day.....nothing substantial to report on the injury front......will play it smart and rest today.....plan to try 30-35' tomorrow.....the foam roller is working its magic.....
yesterday: rest

total 52 diagonals, time 43mins42secs, distance approx 9.256km (typos permitting, probably a bit longer as ran wide outside the lines. For the diagonals there were sprinklers in the way to slalom around, so some length sould be added there too.) Exercises to close.
today:
about 20k total in vibrams in Villa pamphili, 6k warmup, 5k hills circuit with FrancoP and a bunch of regulars wanting to do the Gobba workout (38se uphill hill plus same intensity for about 150m flat), 1k cool down, 8k light jog with another buddy who showed up late.
Tastes good. Less filling.
yesterday: rest
today: walk to work, will walk back home
good news x 2.....a pain free 33' on Friday.....still some slight stiffness in the lower outer calf, but it got no worse during the run......worked the foam roller and went for a walk on Saturday.....started Sunday's run with the same slight stiffness......it actually seemed to improve through the second half of the run......finished in 37'.....the longest in quite a while......may have to go back-to-back today as I'll be unable to run on Tuesday.....not sure if running today is smart......I've got a few hours to think about it....
