- The BBC is one of the world's top news organizations, and has been for longer than you've been alive, unless you were born before 1922.

- Proof of purchases for illegal drugs only exist when really stupid people provide them. Even an idiot knows to not make a record, and pay in cash.

If I remember right, Rupp was drug tested over 20 times last year and came up clean on all counts. This smells of fishy slandor to me. Could very well end up in court if someones name/reputation is shat upon just to prop up low tele ratings and all.

How many times was Lance tested again? How many times was Regina Jacobs? How many times was Marion Jones? etc. etc....

So, you're saying it's obvious that Alberto cheats, and Magness should have known it.

And you're also saying that there's no proof, and nothing to see here. That there's no way that Alberto took it to the next level.

When 4 people talk about their experiences with Alberto. People that worked with him intimately...as both coaches and athletes...people who everything to lose and nothing to gain by whistleblowing...you say that this isn't evidence.

Remember how hard it was to turn the tide on Armstrong. Remember how the witness were discredited. Remember? They had books to sell. They had an axe to grind.

These are the same arguments that are coming up on this message 'lboard. We've been through this before. These strawman arguments worked briefly for Armstrong. They'll be much less useful for Al. He's less likeable...it's only a matter of time before a real, hardcore investigation is done.

It's starts with journalism...advances to the former inner circle who can finally talk...it ends with an investigation...and eventually the loss of title and position.

Just a reminder that beating a drug test is basically the easiest part of doing drugs.

The people who need to lawyer up are: Salazar, Rupp, Farah, and maybe Centro.

I think many are failing to appreciate (1) some legitimate journalists are putting their reputations on the line with this story, so it's pretty ludicrous to levy accusations like the hidden-identity NOPer being fake, (2) they mentioned there are seven different people who've gone to USADA with concerns about NOP cheating. That would be a hugely significant fact even if we had no idea what their concerns were.

That being said, the BBC segment was flawed. The whole part about EPO has nothing to do with the claims against NOP, which are mainly about testosterone, thyroid, and other TUE-type issues. So the BBC looks dumb for trying to juxtapose the EPO part with the NOP part.

I wonder if Magness' University of Houston T&F team will continue to be sponsored by Nike after this?

The threat of litigation. We saw how that worked out for Lance. Alberto is much less important to their bottom line than Lance. They won't back him...they'll let him flail.

Have you ever dealt with a chronic liar/ manipulator. That is what they do. Lie and manipulate. Constantly. They don't always plan it out. They are compelled to do so to protect their constructed self-image of superiority. When their back is up against the wall their only concern is wiggling out just a bit so they can lie and deny another day.

Remember AL Sal has gone on record saying that his return to good health / Comrades success occurred after a religious pilgrimage where his rosary chain changed from silver to gold. Oh and, he also went on Prozac around the same time...

Salazar will absolutely be given up as a sacrifice by Nike. Also, Rupp and Farah. The payout has to be big, and getting the top three will satisfy WADA and the USADA. Why? Because it will scare the crap out of anyone else trying to stretch the rules like Salazar has.

Ok, answer the question I've asked several times: why is it that the only evidence Magness provided was the purported record of Rupp listing one item from a 2002 entry? If the cheating was so rampant and Magness had access to records (all the way back to 2002) Why the dearth of evidence?

Just a simple question.

It is really easy for critical thinking people to understand that Alberto may not slip up more than a few times in the last decade. The absence of evidence isn't evidence that nothing is going on. Why do you think they would leave a huge paper trail of doping evidence?

As for the idiots who keep complaining about it being brought up now 1) explain to me why you think this matters, but anyway 2) both Magness and the Gouchers have lodged their complaints with the appropriate channels (USADA) years ago.

The insistence on attacking the messengers, as if they would just get together and fabricate stories for no reason, is quite baffling.
