We also will be doing a live watch praty and reaction show starting 5 minutes before the race (so 1:55 pm ET) and then going on for as long as we need to afterwards:
She runs a 4:06 and the comments are as expected for Let's Run. You people really are sh!t human beings and deserve a dying sport. Nothing anyone does makes you happy unless they fail at it, and then you act like you won the lottery. I hope there is a hell because you all deserve to spend eternity there.
You suck.
Letsrun: Predictably making fun of goofy, although admittedly very entertaining, marketing stunt
Nike Interns and r/AdvancedRunning users: "Not on my watch! This was transformational for the sport!"
These announcers were cringeworthy. "one of the most remarkable miles we've ever seen, man or woman. She ran with the weight of the world on her shoulders". This woke nonsense is getting out of hand. 15 year old boys are going sub-4 now. She was over a second per lap off that. If anything, this just showed the clear differentiation between the two sexes and made a compelling argument as to why men should not compete in women's sports.
Yeah Swangard just reeled off "this shows that one day the 4min mile will be broken by a woman"
"not a matter of if, but when"
With all due respect, this right here would point to the complete opposite.

4:06 was a good run and within the window of most peoples' predictions. She might've had 4:04 in her if that was the target from the beginning, but nothing ever indicated she was in sub 4 shape or that it was a realistic target.
I just don't think she has the leg speed for it, even endurance monster men that break 4 can usually run at least 1:52-1:53 at the slowest and they usually came at it with 5k PRs much faster than Faith has.
Paid for that first 800 split dearly in the last 600. Can we stop now with this gimmick and just enjoy watching her run real races and beat all her competition? This stuff is just a commercial for Nike gear.
Why does it bother you that she done this? Really, it's not like she's taken an opportunity from someone else. There's no disadvantage to anyone else from her doing this. This is a woman who has literally achieved everything possible in her event. Does it really float your boat to watch her pound her rivals into the track yet again in a DL? She tried something different, came up short. She was at 3:01 with a lap to go. The Nike team will take the data from this and see if it's worth having another attempt

AGREED. And you'll see all the weirdo libtards downvote my post because it's painful to digest such a reality.

They do, but everyone come on - you can't not be impressed by her courage and effort. She was visibly hurting going down that back straight heading towards 1000m and she toughed it out.
I am impressed by that. Honestly, I felt it could have gone much worse - especially in the final 200m. And with splits better suited to her physiology and level they probably could have got her to 4.04 high, 4.05 low.
From Nikes side I think they would have been hoping for a little better - I don't really know how you would evolve this initiative from here, but kudos to them for investing in it and making it something exciting and intriguing.
Jokes aside, I'm also impressed with her for trying! She got the conversation started. How many people were talking about a woman breaking 4 minutes in the mile before this stint? Faith wasn't close, but I am convinced now that it's a worthy barrier at the edge of human performance. That should be the one unifying thing that excites every fan of the sport. What's right at the edge of possibility? What is a worthy dream?
Swangard is always cringeworthy....I can't stand listening to anything he does! Must have dirt on Nike execs or something....not sure how he has a job.
I was surprised they didn't have an electric vehicle with a big wall in front of her to reduce the air drag like they did for Kipchoge. I imagine she could have shaved off at least a second with that. Or maybe had the mile run in a straight line on a road or custom track. The curves reduce speed / momentum a bit enough for at least a second after 8 turns.
