No, I did not abandon the idea that there are girls on track right now to do it. I tried clarifying how much you think a motivated person could improve in 2 years, but you declined to answer. These people may or may not do it. By saying they are on track doesn't make it a given. If they do it, it will be within a decade. If they don't, some current 5th or 6th grader will.
As a young U.S. phenom, Wiley should try to do something special soon because she may only have a few more years.
Are you pretending that Mu hasn't had a successful pro career?
Mu has had an incredible career.
I would argue Cain and Efraimson under-performed based on expectations (that were super high). Mu appears to be less interested (or something we don’t yet know about) in the sport than the year she won gold, Touhy under-performed in track this year based on expectations (high ones!)
expectations are insanely high based on early/young success and then a short-ish professional career, but maybe that’s a pattern?
Addy is fast enough to be pursued by meet directors directly. As a college athlete she is likely not getting paid to be in the meets. It’s a meet directors dream to get someone of her ability for free. But I doubt that lasts long. She has proven herself. 1:57.64.
The athletes who NEED agents to get into the European Circuit are those who are on the cusp of being great but are not a meet directors first choice. Addy Wiley is the equivalent of an A list movie star in the running world. An agent is negotiating on someone else’s behalf to be next in line should Addy Wiley choose not to race a given event. And everyone knows it but Astro….
fellowhoosier, you are correct that upon a close reading, the statement
"Then you have the prosecutor who successfully defended Stoffel’s dad against allegations she made against him, but now he’s taking the stance that Stoffel is telling the truth!?"
does not directly say what she accused him of. However, I think it is implied (and also the lawyer is in the field) of dealing with sexual assualt. So, I am inclined to believe that sexual assualt is what she alleged against her dad. Regardless, this should be verifiable with someone there.
There was another post (I can see if I can find it if you'd like, but it was deleted a number of times) that was from an Indiana U runner that claimed that they all know Stoffel to be a nutcase. Seems like that one could be confirmed, too, with a little digging from someone there.
I don't disagree with you on anything you've said on this thread. It does seem documentary movie worthy, which is a driver of the discussion here, I think.
Name any other active female who has ran 1:57.64 that doesn’t have a huge endorsement deal? I’ll wait….
Yes, this is the exact point I am trying to make. Why doesn't she have a huge endorsement deal? Why didn't she have any NIL offers when girls who were running objectively slower have received NIL deals? Why is she wearing Nike and New Balance logos for free?

Because she's mired in a huge amount of scandal of all different kinds, which is a PR nightmare for companies that sponsor athletes specifically for good PR.
It sounds to me like she has left school to go pro. This allows her to stay with Lauren Johnson (Nick might also be part of Team Wiley “off the books” to avoid any Safe Sport scrutiny). An agent is very likely funding this Europe trip and getting her into races hoping to get a nice windfall when she signs with a sponsor.
If this is true, it alleviates some headaches for Huntington’s program as they won’t have to answer questions about a former athlete nor be persona non grata at meets. The NAIA has no say in who coaches her or where she can race any longer.

There is NO high school girls on track to run faster than 4:26. You just made that up because you don't know anything about the girls who are currently in high school.
No sponsor would be stupid enough to sign her of she decided to forgo Huntington to stay with the Johnsons. It would be the exact opposite - “will sign you BUT you have to dissolve your relationship with the Johnson and move out of Huntington and train with our sponsored group”.

Tweets like this make it seem like she is very much part of the Huntington team:
Or because she just ran 1:57.46. And 4:03. How fast can she go? Brussels will be telling. I assure you, it is not that companies are not interested. It is most certainly a bidding war. With both athlete performance and shoe companies driving up the price and terms of a deal. Serious question: What is a 19 year old American Cancer survivor with her interview presence worth that has ran 4:03 and 1:57.46? With 3 Olympic Games in the next 9 years? Whatever the final deal, it will be huge! And Astro will erupt. But sincerely, thank you Astro for driving the discussion….and her contract value.
