Athletics Kenya should have never let it get to this point. If these women had been tested in accordance with standard anti-doping standards prior to Doha, then someone would have been well aware of an issue, if there were one.
I wouldn't be surprised if Athletics Kenya had failed to sufficiently test these women throughout the year and they are in the same boat as the two men in the 5k. Refusal to take the testosterone test as a saving face measure for a inadequate anti-doping program.
Jackline Wambui has undergone more than 3 dope tests this season.
But she does not want to do the testosterone test. My hypothesis is that she has become paranoid. She sees herself as a woman. She hopes to get married someday. So she does not want to risk the stigma of being labeled a man. In that society, if you are a woman and are labeled by science as a man, your hopes for getting married someday are doomed. Not to mention the ridicule you would have to endure in some societies. She would rather quit the sport. If I was her, I would have the tests secretly done. Just by looking at her, I think there is a good chance she is XX
