Serious infections (staph) are on the rise and much tougher to treat now. My son just had a likely staph infection that was getting better on its own and then spread and had to be treated, though treatment worked quickly and my brother had a more serious one a few years ago that recurred after a few months and sent him once to the ER.
Real shame for Andrews--Lyme disease if not properly treated soon can be debilitating and recur for years. Elena Delle Donne has had recurrences for close to ten years now.
And real shame about Jenkins. He has tremendous potential, already a 3:35 guy in 2016, 7:38 last year, and 13:07 way back in 2015! but can't stay healthy and with a torn plantar fascia his Olympic campaign next year may even be in doubt. It can take six months to heal and he may not be able to train hard until sometime in the spring.
EJ will be fine. He ran 8:22 at pre and 13:21 off of trash training.
