I applaud LRC for their follow-up questions and push for clarity, shown here:
"You said, 'I’m not sure people realize how intense' it can be. Help me realize. What kind of things have you had to face in speaking out?"
Unfortunately, Goucher's reply didn't help much at all. He speaks vaguely of "the negativity, the assaults, essentially ... when you get pummeled by people." What this mean? Does he get hate mail? Hate email? Do people boo him in the grocery store? On a practical, day to day basis does it mean former friends hang up on him when he calls them?
He goes on to say, "And then once everything gets going, more stuff gets exposed and then more stuff is public and you’re in this fight. Until you have that ultimate resolution, it’s almost like energy is being sucked from you." Again, what the heck does this mean? How much of this is actually happening and how much of it is based on his sense of isolation now that he's no longer part of a team or club, now that he's no longer competing? Is he reading too many media reports and imagining people hating him? Is he actually in daily contact with someone working on this and, if so, what does that look like?
Dude, did you read the other thread on him? Or the next 20 posts? Jerks like yourself are crapping all over him.
It upsets me to see people ripping on him and Kara simply because they are no longer fast. What do they have to gain by coming forward? I'd argue very, very little except integrity.
