Congratulations! You're so fast and cool. Realistically, you should not associate your mile time with your self worth. But you'll learn that once you finish high school
In this increasingly sedentary, overweight world of nearly 8 billion people, even a 6:00 mile would be elite and rare. I am quite sure that less than 5% can run under 6:00 for the mile except in Africa or parts of the rural world where people are still very much in shape.
Under 5:00 would certainly be under 1%.
Go on your Facebook friends list or look through your high school yearbook, and tell me how many can even run a 7:00 mile.
Should we include the 22% of the world's population who are stunted and have deformities such as rickets due to malnutrition? They probably couldn't run a 4:30 through no fault of their own. What about the 50% of women in developing countries who are anemic? Or are the people who are chronically ill due to infections with parasites, malaria, etc.? How about age?
4:30 is an achievement, but the context is that you have to be very fortunate to live somewhere that is achievable.
Which is now close to 8 billion. Northern India is where the party is at. Uttar predesh is a small state in northern Indian that has more people than all of the u.s.
Theres no reason to not include all of humanity. It makes us runners that much more special that we are able to do what we do, and do it so aesthetically.
Brojos were vigilant last year or 2016 when a legit 3:45 Marathoner claimed to be a 3:15 Marathoner. When are Brojos going to put a stop to this nonsense from so-called 430miler? Earlier this week, so-called 430miler claimed he sprinted 22.xx 200m at age 34. I am certain 430miler is insane.
I'll still be running 24.xx at age 50. Mainly because I have more passion for running than you and all others younger than me.
I think you're still on track for a 24 by age 50. Keep it up coach!
