However, Dave Wottle (and the golf cap) was my first hero - coming from off the back to win the '72 Olympic 800m was inspiring.
Steve Ovett. A true racer and knew how to get over his career. I absolutely love the story about his daughter coming home from school and asking if he knew there was a gold medal winner with the same name as he. Anyone know a written source for that story?
