No, it does not mean that, though certainly Western has the tools to be a top-20 D1 cross team, even if they don't have the accreditation, etc. It means that Westnern would have had one individual in the 5K at nationals while Colorado had two, Arkansas had three, and Stanford had four, and two guys under 14:00 for the season while Stanford, Colorado, and Arkansas each had four.[/quote]
So you have still yet to name a NEW team that has the depth that Western has. Just think of this Adams barely lost to Dartmouth and Iona in early September and Iona got 11th at NCAA's, right. If Western KILLED Adams at Conference Regionals and Nationals, each time the margin of victory being larger, then why is it being said that Western can't compete with the top 10 in the nation. I know, I know a win is a win, and that really determines nothing right? I guess thepoint that I am trying to make is, these guys could compete with anyone anytime anywhere. don't think so, then just ask the director of the Griak to let them in the race and see how they finish compared to Wisconsin and Eastern Michigan and Notre Dame(three top ten teams @last year's NCAA's) Seriously outside of the "big three" there are no other TEAMS that can run with Western. There are a boatload of individuals who may be as fast or faster than their team as a whole, but there aren't many teams. But it will all remain to be seen at the Mt. Sac relays.
