Sorry, race very much dictates whether you'll be successful in certain events, a good example being sprinting. Saying it's just about dedication and hard work is absurd as it is implying that whites are simply too lazy to work hard enough to compete in the sprints, but inexplicably work incredibly hard and are successful in a range of other non-sprint events for no apparent reason. Vice versa for blacks in say, swimming etc.

Every race works just as hard as the other.

Perhaps whites and Asians see that to succeed at the top in running, you need to dope and dope heavy like most track stars do, but they are less willing to risk their health for that. Perhaps some races or cultures just can't take running (esp sprinting) very seriously. Who knows..

Also, Jamaicans and Americans have failed a ton of tests, yet you can trust their results? No way!!

I don't know why people think body build is a reliable indicator of drug use. Its a logical fallacy, just because many drug users are cut does not mean all people who are cut are drug users or just because you are skinny or not cut you can't be on drugs.

OK so if you start quoting parts of post race interviews. ""I get light headed sometimes after a 200 race where I really push to the limit". Not that strange for a tall lady whose oxygen supply has just been depleted. If you read up on her training as a heptathlete and compare her to the other runners she has a more balanced muscle structure. Being a heptathlete also gives you that killer push at the end when you think you're dying. They all collapse at the end of their final 800 and often the oxygen tanks come out.

Almost all other athletes in this thread have been caught or have had suspicions of drug use. She already knew that this was coming and I think she's ready for it. And maybe the Dutch are smarter, if so, they need to get caught. Until then, enjoy it.

As for the Dutch speed skaters; national sport, sponsorship, and competition, will actually make you better. Speedskaters are national heros and paid professionals in the Netherlands.

PS I don't see anyone bashing the Russian who won the 110 hurdles. :)

How fast is the track in Rio? If yes, it's likely she may break the world record there with her progression and the switch to full time sprinting.

The track is obviously fast and in this particular final we saw two of the five ever fastest times (and some powerhouses absent) and records and PBs. So is there something else going on or is this just a new batch of fairly young athletes getting ready for Rio?
