Gotta say, I'm a little surprised that Kipchoge was only sixth. I'm not too worried about his chances in London though, because 60:50 isn't too bad considering how slow they went out.

I'm under the impession that anyone male with her - paid by race organizors or not = no record. According to IAAF, that is. In my mind it still would be. Hopefully according to adidas too.
Wasn't that rule passed specifically because of Mary? In a half, right? Was it this same race? A lot of races start genders separately now, of course and that avoids any such controversy.

Keitany's time is the #3 performance of all time on record-eligible courses. The top three have all come within the past year. #1-#6 are all from 2013-2015.

They need to try this out for a major marathon. I hope somewhere like NYC or Chicago doesn't get testy about drones flying around their city. Maybe London or Berlin would be better.
There should be a regular broadcast (that incorporates the drone) and then a separate stream that is just the drone cam the entire race. It's a great perspective on the pack.

The drone now has its own thread it was so good.
I think it's a law drones can't be used for commercial use in the US so New York and Chicago are out.

The drone footage was excellent. Really liked the overhead shots. They gave good perspective on the pack, the overall race, and just how fast they're actually moving. Hopefully this becomes more of a frequent thing in road race coverage.
Also, Mike Kigen is a BA. Always out there putting himself on the line. Doesn't look the greatest, but is a total grinder.

True for now but therr are already draft regulations for commercial drone use. As slow as the FAA moves it could be a while yet
