He may have weighed a bit less in college, but not much considering he played RB there too. At 5'10 he'd have to have weighed a whole lot less, like under 185, way too skinny for that position. He ran 20.01 for 200 and in all likelihood he could still beat 53.79 at 215.
6 foot 1/225 pound Herschel Walker was a 4x400 relay All American and SEC champ too. Considering that he stayed in sports after quitting football, it wouldn't surprise me if he could still beat 53 at age 52.
I just said two things..
dont list someones FULL football weight from 2014 and compare it to their college track and field weight 6 YEARS EARLIER.....in 2008!!!!

What makes you think that if someone at the olympic level isnt even over 184lbs then someone in college is going to be over 214lbs running the 400?
Did you ever see how skinny college runners are? They are even skinnier than the pros..

you all act like just because someone is 224lbs during football that is exactly what they weighed during track..
Heres a clue.. im around 230 in the winter.. I literally only run track and lift 2 days a week and im down to 210...
What do you think i would weigh if i ran track 5 or 6 days a week like most college and pros do?
Lets go keep up the comparing between full bodyweights in football and try to just protray that as their weight when they were competing in track... Yeah because thats logical.

Someone running 54 seconds wouldn't get in meets in high school, much less college. Todd Gurley ran 10.8 100m in high school. He may not be as fast now at 230 lbs at 6 ft, but I guarantee he could jog a 54 second 400m. It's just that no one would think to measure and record such an inconsequential feat.
I would bet money that if you weighed and measured every one of the thousands of high school boys who run faster than that, or you took every college football team (not to mention every weight-lifting frat boy, lacrosse bro, etc...) to the track for 400s, there would be hundreds who could run 400m in under 54 seconds (which you have no proof of, btw) at over 210 lbs and 6 ft or under.
And yes I do know what weight does. I'm a 250 lb, 40 something recreation runner who runs a 23 minute 5k but couldn't run 400m under a minute (never tried however). I know what the weight feels like. As I said before, my son is 230 lb and runs 50.5 400m at the end of a decathlon first day, but it doesn't count because he's 6-5.

Mike Smith, Canadian decathlete. 47.06 400m at 225 lbs. Oh wait, he's 6-5, so the fact that he ran seven seconds faster than the OP doesn't count.
I know of a 6'3", 198 pound guy who ran 44.26.
He also ran 1:43.44 for 800.

37 years ago I ran 47 flat at 215 pounds and 6'2.I ran 46.4 at 185.
