A significant portion of American Indians find the term Redskin offensive. A significant portion of Vikings/Giants do not feel the same way.
The law is 68 years old. They just finally enforced it by cancelling the trademark.
The Redskins is considered the most offensive team name because it is a racial slur. It is the only team in the NFL that is a racial slur. None of the comparisons other posters used to 'offensive' team names even come close to the level of disrespect that the name Redskins demonstrates. If you don't think the name Redskins should be changed, what you are saying is: it would be fine if a team was called The Nig---s. Racial slurs have no place in sports.
