Should we change the other offensive NFL team names too?

We need to get rid of the Patriots' name and logo. They imply that all white people are hoodlums who throw tea into harbors.

Browns need to become Cleveland-Americans because of color.

Only teams left are the 49ers and the Steelers; oddly enough it was these two teams ESPN pitted against each other a number of years ago to find out who the greatest team of all time was (the Steelers came out on top).

Now one could argue the Steelers need changed because steel-making is bad for the environment (even though the origin of their name is actually entirely different) and the 49ers need to be changed because Westward Expansion as a result/bi-product of the Gold Rush indirectly led to the near-extinction of the Original Peoples.

But that's why they're not the Redskins anymore.

I forgot about the Chargers, I mean the Bolts, I mean the Usains, ah hell, forget it!

Yes, we should change everything that might be offensive. I really wonder who these people are. They have nothing better to do with their lives other than b!tching about the name "Redskins." It doesn't affect their lives or rights in anyway, but we're offended so it has to be banned. If someone named a team the crappy crackers, I wouldn't give two shits because it doesn't change my life in anyway. People who are offended need to stop being little babies and get a life.

I personally find 'Eagles, 'Lions', 'Cardinals', and every other animal-based team to be offensive. How can we stand ourselves promoting such beastly violence between animals?

Why are you so upset about this? Today it's silly to have a team named redskins. Years ago, it was not so silly. Years ago nothing derogatory was meant when the word retarded was used. Now that word is out of favor and is used sometimes as an insult. Words change over time, it's not all that unusual.

I like the Japanese baseball team the Ham Fighters. Could be offensive to some, I guess.

Nothing is more entertaining to me then seeing bigots defend bigotry, because they're too scared to just come out of the closets and be bigots so that civilized society can marginalize them out of society. The arguments are so creative and impassioned. Quite wrong, but creative.
