Why are so many of today's young adults depressed?

People have always been miserable, it's just that depression has become a 'thing' in recent times.

So, in short, young adults are no more depressed than they were 25-50-75-100 years ago.

They don't know their place on the social totem pole. Only 5% of the people can be considered socially special. If you're a guy and don't play one of the 3 b-balls, you simply cannot be on the top dog tier. Walking around in skinny jeans will only make you like a weeny but that weeny will still wanted to be treated like the king. And fat and ugly girls are not special. They should seriously know their place. This was the way it was in the old days.

Depression doesn't exist in his lexicon....people were taught to GET OVER THINGS and move on.
