Can LR have a respectful conversation about Matt Llano's announcement?

Matt Llano's post tells all you need to know about him; the posters here tell you all you need to know about them.

I remember the guy from high school, he was teammates with Centro at Broadneck.

Who cares?

This guy is not some hero for coming out of the closet. Neither are any of you for having a p*ssing contest about how tolerant you are.

If Llano wants equal treatment, then why make some elaborate announcement declaring how different he is? Gays will never be accepted until people stop making a big deal out of these things.

Don't get me wrong, I support gay rights %100. But the modern gay rights movement, with its pride parades, rainbow flags, etc., only serves to perpetuate stereotypes. Gay athletes making a fuss over their sexuality is part of the problem IMO.

Come on michiganxcrunner don't you know anyone who disagrees with a gay person on any issue, gay rights related or not, is a vile bigot, living in a different century.
