Does anybody know where I can find the results from the 1996 South Regional race? Thanks
Did it ever occur to you so-called running "experts" that the coach may be taking the long view and sees the whole picture, what's best for a young runner?

I completely doubt that putting her in a (comparably) very weak field is helping her long-term development. If anything, it would hinder it.
Try this link for 1996 South Regional results:
Better yet:

I guess I can't do anything right the first time. :)
Nevermind...I'll keep searching though.
This is the best I could do:
Thanks for the work, but I am hoping to find full results.
Dunes Runner:
I was referring more to the situation of the Bizzari girl in the Midwest as to the girl in the South.
None of us really know what the full story is . . . If the girls wanted in on the seeded races, I understand what you are saying. Anyone who had done their homework about past races and knew what their athlete/child was capable of would have, or should have, known that each of these girls was a possible qualifier.
I guess I am open to the possibility, at least in the Midwest case, that athlete and coach knew she was a potential qualifier but opted for an unseeded race.
Check out Dyestat.com to find out what the story is before you all go into hysterics as to why she didn't run in the seeded race.
In 1999, the Midwest sent 9 people from the region on the boys side when Ed Torres and some other kid essentially tied at for the eigth spot. so there is precedent for having a 33 person field. Just a thought.
songdog - hopefully they will be given their chance to run next time.
crossman - it would help if you had a link to the interview.
When I click on http://www.dyestat.com/ it says link not found.
This is a link to a response by Bizzari's club coach concerning why she - and the Ohio D.2 state champion, who also runs for the same club - chose to run the freshamn/sophomore race.

If anyone have the link to the Kate Albright interview please post it.
Thanks.
On the contrary, it seems that she really doesn't care because she's running for God and that's all that matters. To each their own.

Thanks for the link. But it's not working. Do you have the complete one?
songdog - From the information here -- "Katie says she does not mind..." etc -- the decision to keep her out of the race was not made by her.
She might say she "doesn't mind" but you don't know what she feels inside.
How would you like to qualify for the finals of the Olympics and have some coach tell you to wait 4 more years and try it again.
You say the world doesn't revolve around Footlocker.
But Katie Albright's world is her world and no one should interfere with the choices that she has the right to make for herself.
Really I think Footlocker should make an exception and give her a position in the finals.
Does anyone else agree with this. Maybe we can petition them to do it.

Dyestat.com isn't good enough for you?
Was the Midwest Regional on a slow course? The girls' times look fairly slow compared to the other regionals and their abilities.

Since it doesn't work, no it isn't.
It starts to connect and then says no such link.
