Sure it is: but so is 10.05 and 10.5 or 10.6. The point is not how great or not great MJ's time is, but the disparity between the 2. There are probably NO guys running the 400m who'd touch 10.05, either. But I'll bet you all of those guys running 44.5 -> 45.5 are running well under 12 sec 100m.

Craziness. The guy has a pb that we know of at 45.5 and you think he couldn't break 12 sec for a 100m from blocks? You seriously think he's running 800m an avge of 1sec/his fastest 100m speed
13sec x 8 = 1:40.
I remember hearing Geb ran an 11sec 100m. And Rudisha would smoke Geb over 100m.
MJ ran 10.05 100m, and his 400m time was AT BEST 2 seconds faster than Rudisha's. Even a flat conversion comes out at 10.5 for Rudisha.
He'd definitely go under 11, imo.
45.5 and 43.18 are worlds apart, there were a few guys running a 45/44 behind Johnson during that world record run and a few guys running behind Merritt and Wariner during their 43.xx runs, 2 seconds is a HUGE gap in the 400.
