Let,s not forget that she is only 20. She will have 2 or 3 more olmpics after is year. She is running times that not many americans have run at her age. GIVE ME A BRAKE!!!!!!!!!

I would like to add that I think it might be easier for Jordan to make the Olympic Games A standard at 15:20 for the 5K than the 4:06 Olympic Games A standard for the 1500 meters. In addition, the competition for the US Women's 1500 meters appears to be even more difficult than the 5K competition at this time. It will be interesting to see how she does at the indoor meet in UW next week.

Who the F cares tho?? They're both great competitors, of similar athletic ability, and neither will appeal to everyone's physical taste.
If they prep Jordan for 15:20 next week, she will get it. If not, she will ge it outdoors the first time she gets in a loaded 5k. I would personally rather see her in the 5k, our women's 1500 qualification will be outrageous.
And as someone said, she is 20...much as I would adore watching her compete in London, she's still getting faster people.
You don't know if she's getting faster. She could get burned out. The girl has had massive expectations on her since she was 14 years old and that could wear on some people.
Jordan loves running. If she didn't her stats would prove otherwise......she's improving and it shows. Also, she runs her best when the pressure is on, it's an exciting meet, and expectations on her are enourmous. That is when she is at her best. At only 20 years of age, this gal is going to make a statement in the history books. Furthermore, watching her race every year since she was fourteen years old, she looks like she is still growing!
For a female she certainly experienced late growth in height. I am not sure if she is still adding to her height, but she continues to grow in stature.

I remember watching the trials in 08 and the announcers saying the A-standard was 4:07. She has faster Pr's than both the 1500 and 5k times listed. 4:12 and 15:50 seems way to easy for an Olympic team A standard.

First of all the qualifying times must be set between May 1, 2011 – July 1, 2012. She ran 4:10.28 on May 1, 2011 for the 1500 meters and 15:41 for the 5K on June 11, 2011. These results qualify her for the A standard for the 1500 meters and the B standard for the 5K for the Olympic Trials but not the Olympic Games.

What are Jordan's PR times vs. Sheila Reed's?? Anyone know off hand?
I don't know if she has the kick to sustain in an outdoor championship style race.

So looks like they're fairly evenly matched, PR-wise. I think both will see big PRs this spring.
Actually, I'd say Hasay has an underrated kick. While Reid has out kicked her on several occasions, she's no slouch. At NCAA XC she kicked off a HARD pace and out kicked some great runners like D'Agostino and Infeld with ease.

61 second final 400 to beat Reid, with some impressive speed the last 50m. And that's doubling back from a 4:33.01 mile win, the day after going 4:39 in prelims and 4:30 in the DMR. Not too shabby.
