2) to 30k = 75s
it's possible he couda gone
~ 2'03'51 today, paced to 30k
however, he didn't run it anywhere close to even pace with pedestrian 1st 1/2
he couda actually broken the wr today with "even" pace & pacers to 30k

But then you still have the advantage thru even pacing.
no guarantee the pacers will take you "evenly" thru to 30k
they rarely ever do in a track race ( when was last time we saw 56/1'52/2'34 in a 3'30 shot ? )
that effect woud be magnified over much longer distances
i'm just saying that if wabbits were present & had run at the same "adjusted" quicker pace to 30k ( meaning slow initial 10k, then speeding up with fairly quicker constant pace to 30k but adjusted quicker proportionally thruout ), then geoffey wouda reached 30k with exactly the same fatigue level he had as in actual race, but time wouda been ~ 75s quicker at that point

but i do remember seeing him often at the sides early on, just off the lead, but no one in front of him directly ( that wild haired guy seemed to be leading mostly to 1/2 way with others a little spread across behind )
to get full drafting you need to have a guy(s) no more than 2m ahead of you to designated drop-off point

One thing I have to admit is Geoffrey Mutai's consistancy, that is great.
