A quick glance at his IAAF Bio shows modest (for a professional, for all you "you can't run those times" fanboys) PRs of 3:36 and 7:49. Hell his only Honors listing is getting 4th in a heat at World Indoors from 2010.

Perhaps one day he won't have to blow his load at USAs and still not get on the teams, but until then, wannabe status

b) It's never going to produce a fast time (being a championship)

c) It's not Worlds or the Olympics (which are more important)

Nick is simply overtrained. same with maggie. its been long seasons for both of them

photo finish was used for the pro races (likely all races) so def sally. impressive for her.

At the time of the original 5th ave mile road miles became very popular. There were road miles all over the world televised by ABC. I remember Rio, Rome, London, Paris...

It was great. The IAAF thought it would take away from track's popularity and made some stupid rules like times had to be to the full second. They were generally discouraged by the IAAF which was stupid. They can help to popularize the sport.

Are you going to tell us Wariner could easily set a US record in the 800?

yeah, the diamond league final (arguably more competitive than any championship final) isn't important to win. its more important to save yourself for morocco or 5th avenue (a fun run).
