Surprised to see no love for him yet. I know national championship fields don't come much weaker than this one, but he still won, and beat some good runners (Garrett Heath, Aaron Braun).
Funny that he did it in a time slower than he would have needed to win the usually slow Big Ten mile.
Jeff See wins USATF indoor mile

A win is a win. A national championship is a national championship, and he has one. Good for him.

This is true. Congrats to Jeff See.
However, as long as the indoor US championships are in ABQ everyone from the 800 and up will just continue to stay home! ABQ blows!!!!!!!! Put it back in Boston and everyone will show up. -
Yea congrats to him. plus he's got an aussie smokeshow of the week waiting over in new rochelle.
-
beating Heath in a kickers race is pretty impressive!
-
It was a faster time than Leo Manzano won with last year by a good 3 seconds.
Remember ABQ is at altitude. It was 3 wide in like a 3:59 effort in a kickers race. I don't think most college conference meets are like that. -
Also ran 7:50 3k this season. Have heard he is looking tat doing steeplechase. Is he still training at Ohio State or is he over at Iona?
-
He is in Columbus training with Huling and Olinger under the supervision of Robert Gary. He served as a volunteer assistant coach this past fall for the Buckeyes in cross.

You guys are missing something. See did this yesterday:
1 Bernard Lagat Nike 7:57.17
2 Galen Rupp Nike/Oregon TC Elite 7:59.91
3 Aaron Braun McMillan Elite 8:02.59
4 Brent Vaughn Nike 8:09.45
5 Scott Smith McMillan Elite 8:18.45
6 Jeremy Johnson Brooks 8:21.52
7 Jeff See Saucony 8:23.29
8 Derek Scott Puma 8:25.22
9 Trevor Dunbar Portland 8:29.85
DNF Kyle Alcorn Nike
DNS Christopher Barnicle New Balance
Coming off that (and at altitude), See's victory and Braun's time(s)are far more impressive. -
Not a bad group of professionals with Olinger just making World XC team and Huling dominating American steeplechasing. Throw in Leslie at 3:57 and these guys seem to be going good.
-
Rob Myers won a couple indoor National Championships under Coach Gary as well, then went to Michigan to train under Warhurst, but know he is back in Ohio. Not sure who currently coaches him now, but good to see him still at it.
-
anyone have a video of the race?
-
Is the race online yet? ESPN didn't show it

Jeff See is way too big to be a steeplechaser. He isn't a distance runner; more of a mid_distance runner.
-
Congrats to Jeff who also won the Ryan Shay mile last summer. Great guy.
