It's a fair point to make as she was constantly running on the outside of the lead pack.
In fact only a few times did I see her duck into the corners and run the shortest route, whereas Cheruiyet and Masai hugged the corners much more and I'd say definitely ran several strides less than Shalane.
That said she put herself in fantastic position and covered everything with the belief she could run up there in the lead pack. The result speaks for itself!
