Ah me, LDO, you are a good example of the beauty and the dark side of chat sites like this. The beauty is that it allows freedom of speech, a forum to share ideas, express feelings, vent, etc. The dark side is that it allows folks to say things anonymously and behind that cloak many say things they wouldn't if others knew their identity.
As per Earl Jones, it's fun but I'm not at all sure very instructive to see what former athletes are currently doing for work. Earl's story is instructive however and I'd encourage you to ask around before going on about a guy on the cusp of, or has recently earned his college degree. Bob Parks has had everything to do w/the latter development. I believe this addresses your comment about EMU keeping athletes eligible and then sweeping them aside. And, by and large, I feel we all end up in the jobs we deserve. Not all jobs are earned thru planning; sometimes luck, pluck and circumstance dictate where we end up.
My friend, legion are the number of all students, athlete or not, that end up in jobs they're overqualified for and/or in jobs outside their field of study. Earl is where he is and you could say EMU owes him more, but you'd be wrong.
