You LIE! Remember Fallujah!? Murder by drone in Af/Pak is indeed despicable, but the number of innocents slaughtered under O come nowhere close to the number slaughtered by Bush et al. in Iraq and Afghanistan. Nowhere close.

There was a programme on our television the other evening showing the massive Chinese presence now in black Africa.

The Iraq war cost the American taxpayer, or more accurately, as America is bankrupt, those who lend America the capital to continue her aggression - over $750 billion.

Now Iraq has a population of about 31 million.

Imagine the transformation of that country has the US just given $250 billion to be distributed to every family in that country!

They’d be friends and allies for life.

Ad the US would have had $500 billion left over to distribute to the 43 million of its own citizens on food stamps.

Since Mubarak was in power for 20 years before Bush was in office, and for 2 years after Bush left office, Bush had nothing at all to do with it.

Maybe if we hadn't gone into Iraq, the Iraqis would've toppled Saddam themselves. It would've been nice to have saved a trillion dollars like that.

Easily the best post in this thread. Funny thing is, there is nothing traditional about this self-centered view Americans have in relation to the rest of the world. Few Americans even really cared about the rest of the world before ww2. Then after the war America was basicially the only industrial country left standing. It was arranged that we would hold down the fort for awhile as other countries rebuilt. Through the 50s and 60s these countries did rebuild and became capable of producing things for the U.S. It was only in the 70s and into the 80s when Americans started throwing this weird fit about needing to be the dominant country in the world. The middle east has been the same damn middle east its always been. When American just left it alone it was fine.

It is not at all tough to find examples of this. It shouldn't be a surprise, since Obama grandstanded w/ flamboyance against Bush foreign policy prior to the 08 election. Then once he won, he quietly continued the Bush policies.

The overwhelming bulk of criticism of Obama from R's has been over domestic, not foreign policy.
