P.S. I already work in a JUCO conference where cross country gets FIVE scholarships, separate from track, which gets an additional 12. And Distance only programs can't mine those 12. You only get the 12 Track scholarships if you have a fully supported track team.
Title 9 is a load of crap. Firstly,the football issue must be addressed and secondly, how is it fair to give someone a scholarship to compete in a sport that they absolutely suck in?
For the top 10% of female college athletes, I respect you and support your right to play and receive scholarship. For the bottom 90% that absolutely suck, get the hell out of here. To cut a program with athletes that have worked hard at their sport since middle school and are relatively close to the top percent in their sport and bring in a program where the disproportionate level in skill is painful to watch is disheartening.
For lack of better words, it a social welfare type of handout and it serves a counterproductive purpose to make men hate female sports more and belittles the work of the female athletes that do deserve to be watched and supported.
