Zola Budd was an Olympian, world cross country champion and a world record holder as a junior.At 18, Zola ran 1500m (3 m. 59.96 s.), the mile (4 m. 17.57 s.), the 3000m (8 m. 28.83 s.) and the 5000m (14 m. 48.07 s.).At 17, she was ran 8;30s for 3000 and 15;01 for 5000.Makes 9;05 at 20 appear pedestrian...

OK. All great athletes. But, has anyone (distance running) accomplished much more through the age of 19 as Jordan has?
(2) Junior Olympic Cross Country National titles
(4) Junior Olympic Track and Field National titles (1500M and 3000M)
(4) High School State Cross Country championships
(4) High School State Track and Field Championships (3200M)
(2) National Cross Country Footlocker championships
(5) USA Track and Field Junior National championships
(2) USA Junior Cross Country National championships
Now that's consistency.
Zola Budd was also one of the great non-African female track prodigies of all time. And you're comparing her season-best outdoor 3000 times against Hasay's first race of the indoor season.

Easy answer to your question: Mary Decker Slaney. By age 19 she has accomplished 5 times what Hasay has. Oh, and she's an American distance runner so you can't play the whole "not American" card.
USC Fan.. you are an idiot.
Jogging
Zola Budd is African.Budd's first 3000 of the year as an 18yo was in the 8:40s and not on illegal indoor track that results in athletes often failing to reproduce or improve upon their performances elsewhere.

budd was born and raised in south africa which is now and has always been in africa, budds parents are from africa as were her grandparents and great grandparents etc. zola budd was as african as one can get, until great britain gave her citizenship so she could try to get a medal and bring glory to great britain.
question for the person with the above quote, would you also say bernard lagat is one of the greatest non-african male prodigies of all time? just seeing if you are consistent.
You're right, I was imprecise. Of course Zola Budd was raised in South Africa. When I said "non-African" I should have made clear that I meant "not from one of the few North African nations that produce the world's fastest runners this past twenty years or so."
