Whilst Chris Solinsky has some very strong times to his name, he is not in the same leauge as Mottram was 3-4 years ago. Mottram when on form allways looked a threat for the win and won races against some pretty stacked feilds, Ostrava 5000m springs to mind. Oh and he had a world champ bronze aswell.

In the distance category, Solinsky is certainly noteworthy while considering head-to-head comparisons. One would be ignorant to believe otherwise. I know some people like to mention the likes of Shorter, Ritz, Pre, Mottram, Webb, Nurmi, Zatopek, Coe, Ovett, Moorcroft, Ryun, Shorter, Baldini, and Viren; however, on any given day, Solinsky would be competitive with or beat most of the aforementioned athletes. Although I agree that championships define an athlete's career, Solinsky deserves mentioning in this category.
