Why was there no hearing after the 1st offense? I smell either huge troll, or a college with no common sense.

Cheating is... - hypothetically if your activites in preparation of assignment were 100% transparent with your professor (could see through walls) and then you knowingly/unknowingly violated his/her rules under which you were supposed to follow through to completion - no matter how stupid his/her rules seem.
when you think back to your schooling days, you may NEVER know whether or not you have cheated. Could be like gross negligence in not understanding what's game and what isn't.
If you wore a baseball hat by accident to an exam for non-religious reasons, you can busted for CHEATING! OMG OMG he's a CHEATER!!! cmon...
Former cheater... current dumbass
This guy's an enabling idiot. Comments like what that that other r-tard said, which effectively state, "Haven't we all cheated just a little bit, so who are we to judge" demonstrate ignorance to an exponential power. If my having demonstrated imperfection disqualifies me from judging the actions of another, then we should just throw out all the rules and have an orderless society. The OP admitted cheating and cheating is a dispicable act. I can understand someone panicking on an exam, and although I don't condone it, that kind of cheating is very different than the premeditated variety. The OP plagiarized with the intent of trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes in order to get ahead. Claiming to be sorry after the fact is bulls**t, because there's no f**king way he or she would have turned themself in afterwards.
I stand by my original comment. Cheaters are little b*tches who try to get ahead, while real students are working their @sses off. The vast majority of students in college don't cheat, it's just the little minority who do and they should be punished as harshly as possible.
Plagarism isn't so bad. Heck, they gave a plagarist a federal holiday.

Are you talking about MLK or Jesus?
you should apologize and withdraw. why the f*** would you do plagiarize again after being caught? and in the same class? sounds like you should be pulling incorrectly shaped popsicles off of a conveyor belt rather than being in college
You are pathetic.
Are you f***ing that guy from the condom thread?

The one that wrote in academia, not the one that we have no direct writings from.
At the Community College I go to you get an Academic F. You can not repeat the course. So, if you don't get expelled, it sounded like you would have to change majors. Maybe Transfer to a different school?
Has no one on this website read OAR? Wtf How did this many people take this seriously?
What? isn't O.A.R. that band that Nick Jones of Bentley and now St Johns adores?

Yep. One of the All LR Trolling Championships finalists. Good work.
If the purpose of college is to prepare you for success in the real world shouldn't they be rewarding you for cheating?

the reward for successful cheating is not getting caught. getting caught cheating is a failure, and deserves a failing grade/ other consequences.

Eventually it will always come back to bite you - not because you'll get caught and anything will happen to you (although that could happen), but because chances are your conscience and esteem get wrecked, and because you are not genuinely good at anything you do you can't perform and you're likely in the wrong field/career.
Your full of shit, asking for help is not cheating and will only help you in the long run.
If anything, using others to advance yourself in life is the best way to go about things, you don't see your boss at work doing all the shitty mindless things you're doing do you?
At UVA you'd get kicked out of school permanently, with such a notation written on your transcript. Consider yourself lucky if you only get a suspension.
OP, this one's for you:
I can't understand why he did it the 2nd time after getting caught the first?
Well if this really happened it sounds like he cheated on two papers handed in the same week and wasn't caught until after he had handed both in.
Funny story: friends of mine copied off someone else's incredibly complicated physics homework. It turned out that the guy they copied off of had done the concepts completely correctly, but had multiplied something like 6*8 wrong and they all had the same mistake. The TA basically just told them not to do it again
Transfer out of that s-hole and come to Malone.

You are kidding right? One of your school\\\'s most storied basketball players and a football player got caught nothing happened, in fact they hired a professor who was dismissed at another university for plagerizing/publishing an article he was supposed to be peer reviewing.
