I understand that PSU's track is a very fast 200m banked mondo, much like the tracks at TA&M and Arkansas.

NCAA men's Mile
Provisional: 4:03.5
Automatic: 3:59.0
Qualifier for US National Indoors (It will be a 1500m race at altitude in New Mexico)
1500m: 3:44.6
Mile: 4:01.2

There should be, and there really should be every year, but only Lincoln and Mircea Bogdan have been able to do it so far.
Bair's had several good tries. I think one of his near-misses was run off of a 2:01 opener actually.
Actually, I double checked and the NCAA men's Mile Run qualifying times have changed for this season (2009-2010), and are a bit slower than last year's qualifying times, which I posted earlier in this thread:
Automatic: 4:00.80
Provisional: 4:05.30
At large bids are taken from a descending order list of all verified indoor mile times and the field size is around 16. Usually if you're in the top 25 best times, you make the field because of scratches.
However, with the automatic qualifier being over a second slower this year, my guess is that around 12-15 runners will automatically qualify.
Heat sheets are up for the meet
Those are the standards for a flat 200 meter track. PSU is banked, so 3:59.00 and 4:03.50 are the standards.
Aaaah, OK, Thanks for the clarification. I forgot about the differing NCAA qualifying times for 200m flat, 200m banked, and oversized tracks.
I looked and it appears that there are no differentials made for US Indoor National qualifying times.

Nope, he has been training in Boulder. No Konoval to rabbit. Konoval should be able to go sub-4 himself. Just ran 4:01. Bair is in very good shape right now. This one should be interesting considering the field. I would be surprised to see a chicks*it race.

Taye ran over 2:30 in the 1k two weeks ago. He ran 4:15 in the mile the week before that.

Boylan-Pett will be running the 800m tomorrow. The 800m should be a good race as well as the mile.

Sam Bair now has to have the All Time Record for 4:0.xx performances without going under. It is almost harder to do that not going under. Such a good runner , you would wish he would run under 4:00.00.
What's up with Steve Magness and a DNF? Why travel across the country and DNF?
