Nice comment with a realistic conscience (voice). Great Rift, as you can see, most Americans (athletes and fans)didn't read Doug Logan's response to why we missed out on the Chicago bid for the Olympics. Most times we are not the most diplomatic of folks.

Instead of highlighting and lamenting a loss...cherish what you have accomplished and get back on it. The media as well as placing a rabbit in a race can really take the electricity out of things.

There was no need for Hall to answer question after question about why he didn't win. He did well - man - someone needs to get a clue. Negativity can never outshine the truth...and the truth of the matter is Meb won - period - point - blank!

Meb doesnt have anything to prove. He won NY and he's an Olympic Silver medalist despite never running under 2:09. I'm looking forward to seeing Ritz run the marathon, I hope he does well but so far he has struggled with those longer distances.

That is what we should focus on...Ritz has had a great year! Americans in general have overachieved and finally matched up with the world (Ritz, Meb, Women distance running). Since the Sydney Olympics, our endurance athletes have not been anything to write home about. The recent success has motivated me to train to run a PR. What ever happened to sportsmanship?

Great rift--From an American standpoint I think it would be good for marathoning if an African would show some excitement, much like Meb did when they win. I think it would draw attention from the non-running community. I know I've been rooting for Duncan Kibet as he seems to show a little flare.

great rift, it was a joke. Letsrun knows damn well that Kenya and Ethiopia are the great running powers. The U.S. got one victory out of ten thousand races. So, for a day, we can pretend that we are someone.
