Is Rothlisberger one of the worst QBs to have ever won 2 superbowls?

So why couldn't any of the other Steeler's QB's over the years get the job done? They went 15-1 in his rookie season...only loss was when he didn't start. Take out his motorcycle accident and appendix issue and the inconsistency is probably gone.

Bradshaw's TD/INT for career was 212/210 and Ben is at 102/71. I have watched both play and you could make a case that Ben is as good a starting QB as Bradshaw. Both play well in the post season. The Steelers were 12-4 last year against the toughest schedule in the NFL. The guy is clearly one of the top 5 currently playing in my mind.

Are some of you watching the same QB I am. The guy is a gamer. Like Bradshaw, he can take a beating. He is one of the best out of the pocket passers in the game and not to shabby in the pocket. Hell, the guy had a motorcycle accident and his appendix out before two of the seasons.

Take away a dozen obviously bad calls in Ben's first SB appearance and Hell, Seattle would have a SB win. The guy is an average QB with a great defensive squad - playing in a division that doesn't exactly strike fear in the rest of the league, despite what the homers think.

Partially true but his O-line is also bad. They miss blocks and seem out of place at times.

He certainly has the worst name for sports star.

If you look at the progression of Steelers quarterbacks after Bradshaw, only one of them has been a viable starting quarterback, and that is Ben.

O'Donnell was a journeyman who bounced around several teams, and the Steelers got to the Super Bowl with HIM. Had they been playing a Seattle type team instead of the Dallas dynasty, they may well have won it.

You could have put any number of other young QB's in Ben's spot and they would have thrived, and put Ben in their spot (Lions, Cheifs, Raiders, etc) and he'd be struggling.

He's a solid mid-level quarterback, in no small part because of much the team around him has covered for him has he as improved over time.

You guys will diss an otherwise great QB, if he doesn't win a Super Bowl. So you can't have it both ways. You simply want to diss someone... anyone.

Ben is NOT better than Plunkett. Jim Plunkett won the Heisman trophy, he was a college legend. He played for the AWFUL pariots and got destroyed because they couldnt protect him. Late in his career he linked up with the Raiders and he was amazing. He had a cannon for an arm. If he played for a team like the steelers from the start he would have had many many more superbowls than he had.

The only reason we are discussing ben roth being as good as plunkett is because he was lucky enought to be drafted by a great team. Plunkett is way more talented than ben. He got drafted by the worst team in the league and had poor stats because of that. When he got on a decent team and was in the playoffs as a wildcard team he showed his greatness and won the superbowl. His Raiders team was the first wildcard team to ever win the superbowl and Plunkett was past his physical prime! Ben is just lucky to be a steeler.

I believe that the 3-0 Steelers pretty much prove that Ben is not a great QB because he isn't needed to win but just to manage.

Maybe if they keep winning without him, they'll drop the bastard and keep starting QBs who don't rape people.

Yeah but to win a Superbowl, you need an adequate quaterback. Without Ben, the Steelers would not beat the Colts, Packers or Saints.
